For Winnie - Stowell County Park: An absolute gem! Just a mile or so off I-10, level grass field with trees/shade and its FREE! You can stay up to three nights, though I don’t know why anyone would, it was just the perfect overnight for me. There’s a rodeo arena and playground with plenty of activity. There are two hookups but curiously, you’re not supposed to use them??? Just two other campers the night I stayed. Highly recommend for an overnight

For Winnie - Stowell County Park: Parked for the night w no hookups. Great place for free, clean, safe and quiet. There was one rig w hookups, but I got in after 6pm so I boondocked. Quieter than a Cracker Barrel.

For Winnie - Stowell County Park: We stayed 3 nights in Winnie. This is a free site, hence the 5 stars. The sites are in the county fair grounds campsites. We had to go to the Commissioners Office, only 3 blocks away to register. Unfortunately, we could not pay the additional fee for the hook ups. The commissioners decided that the county will not compete with the local campground businesses. It’s a great place is you are fully contained. There is a public restroom within the fairgrounds but its only bathrooms, no showers. We would definitely go back.

For Winnie - Stowell County Park: Good overnight. No signage so coming in at night is tough. Loud local pick up trucks cruise through occasionally. When we came in we saw an airstream getting towed out of the grass (it'd rained pretty hard that day). So we stayed on the pavement/gravel. A small car came in at 2:30 am and parked 20 feet from us. Made us a little nervous but was just sleeping I guess. There is an RV Park just past this county facility. I think they are connected somehow but it has a big sign that says Reservations Required?. So we didn't pull in there.
Watched a guy working with his horse in the ring which was pretty cool.
