For Yegua Creek: Nice sites with view of lake but close together. Campfire smoke from one site right in our window. Reason for two stars is the sand burrs everywhere. Could not walk dogs anywhere on leash without literally 100’s of these burrs in their coats. Good thing we were only here for a stopover or we would have left like we heard the campers before us left early as well due to the burrs. Nice for quick stop only if you have short hair or no dogs.

For Yegua Creek: Neat park. We spent a few days here in 02/2018 during some rainy weather. We got a site right across the road from the nice playground an a short walk from the beach.
Adjacent to the playground was a really nice circular trail into the woods.
Great big herds of deer spent most of the day and night in the big open field across from the campsites.
The showers we used seem brand new and had nice heat and hot water and were very spacious.
Cell service was adequate:
Verizon: 3 bars, 10Mbps
AT&T: 3 bars, 8Mbps

For Yegua Creek: Nice park! Quiet and clean. All sites seem to have a good view of the lake. 50 amp service with water. No sewer. Sites are pretty level with good space between them. Deer in the evenings and racoons at night. Put out some vanilla wafers for the racoon each night. He always showed up. Will stay here again.

For Yegua Creek: Jan 19-21 2018
RV site 18 level gravel site although down hill entrance. Water and electricity above average. No sewer hookup in this section of park. Two dump stations available. Some of the other sites above us in elevation good as well some had covered picnic tables. Site had fire ring and BBQ pit. Site had super view of the lake. Friendly staff at front gate. Some of the park was still closed for repair from Harvey flood. Firewood was not available on site but could purchase at shell station at highway 36 entrance. Bathrooms brought the rating from 4/12 down to 3. Plumbing and showers were fine however no heat or lights in the daytime and the moisture was so bad water was forming on the floor. Weather was overcast 50 at night and low 60 in day time. Surprised to see park as full because of the weather. Not all sites were occupied. Did not see any staff patrolling the park. We had some loud RVers after 10 PM.
Because it was winter no problems with grounds. Looked like park was well trimmed before the freeze. We would visit again hopefully bathrooms would be maintained better. Reservations were made through the rec.gov website site no problems.

For Yegua Creek: Very disappointing. We stay at Army Corp Campgrounds all over the country because they are always so beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Well not this one. First off we were informed it was a reservation only campground. That is a first I've seen that with Army Corp. It's the middle of December and there are maybe 8 others RV's here. The gate keeper said he would allow us to stay just for one night since we didn't make reservations first. The sites are gravel, uneven, close together, and not well maintained. After seeing our site we are glad we are staying just the one night.

For Yegua Creek: Parks are overgrown, nobody wants to clean the bathrooms grass has not been moved, had to bring my weed eater to clean up the camp site I was in. such a shame the parks used to be beautiful but not no more. the park rangers drive around all day long and do nothing but as soon as they see you parking on the grass they will get you. such a shame.

For Yegua Creek: The park is clean with an abundant amount of wildlife. Most of the sites have good lake views but the sites are close together. It's a good park and we will camp here again.
