For Hen House - Martin Dies Jr State Park: Stayed one night and appreciated the pull through since it was dark. We didn’t make a reservation. We just showed up in several spots were available. Woke in the morning to a beautiful place views of water from the cove and a pollen closer inspection a couple of alligators swimming by. Great place to have our first night, relaxing and quiet. brought our boxes trip and before leaving took a bike tour of the different loops and the lake. Noticed the trails are also back friendly The only downside were the mosquitoes in the evening and the bathrooms could be a little bit cleaner.

For Hen House - Martin Dies Jr State Park: Very nice campground. Most sites level for for auto levelers to keep tires on ground, good water pressure, my site was 30 amp. All sites are paved. Dump station nice. Would stay here again for sure

For Hen House - Martin Dies Jr State Park: Nice place. Lots of visible workers maintaining the grounds and Ranger presence. Very helpful to scout out your site before arrival if you can. The website for reservations won’t tell you there’s a big fallen tree at the back of your chosen site obstructing your view of the lake :-( Or that there’s only one working community dump station that has been recently updated but isn’t finished, and therefore very rut-ridden and muddy.

For Hen House - Martin Dies Jr State Park: A superb state park! So clean well maintained trails and sites are far apart from each other in the hen house unit. Winter is a great time to come

For Hen House - Martin Dies Jr State Park: An outstanding Core of Engineer Park. Well planned and well maintained. Many sites loacted very near the water with excellent lake views. Sites are 16 to 18 dollars in 2015. Half price if you have a goverment issued senior pass (formally Golden Age Passport). Monthly rates available. Road access is narrow and bumpy the last 2 or 3 miles but all paved. Roads in park are excellent. Avery nice place to stay, a little off the beaten path. Many long sites and quite a few pull through. Same sites provide 2 sites located adjacent to each other intended for campers travelling together. Many sites are shaded by huge trees. Freqent wildlife sitings. Garbage subject to attack at night so be sure to put it in secure location. Have fun.
