For Spur 406 Campground - Amistad National Rec Area: WARNING. DO NOT VENTURE DOWN ROAD! Don't go past 2nd toilet!
No turnaround! We had to back our 40' fifth wheel about 1/2 mile.
Sites right up front by pay station are ok. Grade from road to site is steep.
Lots of deer and butterfly's
Quiet is deafening. Great price

For Spur 406 Campground - Amistad National Rec Area: Beautiful and remote. Paved road leads to several sites with shaded tables. Dispersed camping 1/4 mile down dirt road. Caution advised walk it first--not good for low clearance vehicles but if you brave it there's several beautiful sites on a bluff overlooking a creek. We found a spot at the entrance looking out over the Reservior and the hills beyond. Boat ramp is around 1/2 mile down the road.
