For Cranes Mill Park: We thoroughly enjoyed this park. It was quiet and clean. The RV spots were very spacious. There are plenty of places to walk and things to see. It looks like the park is mostly closed with the exception of RV camping so there were not very many people about. Looks like there used to be a boat ramp, tent camping and a day use area but these appear to be closed.
One thing to note: While the sites are big and spacious, they are not level front to back. The are level side to side though. We had to raise the front of our trailer more than at any other park in order to get level. Tongue jack all the way up with leveling blocks underneath.

For Cranes Mill Park: Stayed a week in a 40ft 5’er Jan 2021. Kayaked & fished. Rode bikes, walk to fishing pier. Liked the fact there’s an entry gate. Friendly staff, our site was perfect, backed up to the water. Nice covered picnic tables, grill & firepit at each site. Lots of deer. Didn’t use bathrooms. Peace & quiet. Dump on site.
We will return.

For Cranes Mill Park: Large sites. Very clean. We heard about the mean gate people but our gate person was VERY friendly and helpful. The bathhouse is clean and has a hot water shower. The view of the lake is beautiful but check a map to get a good location. Campground is in middle of San Antonio and Austin so it’s great for exploring those cities. We stayed in February, so cannot comment on water activities. Would definitely return.

For Cranes Mill Park: Nice park but the site was not level so we had some trouble using our automatic levelers. We have a 36’ 5th wheel. A nice camp neighbor helped by loaning some boards. The sites are clean and the views are nice. We didn’t use the bathrooms/showers so no opinion. Unexpectedly saw a tarantula in the road! We took a nice sunset walk around the tent loop. Saw lots of deer and birds. We visited San Antonio (1 hr. Drive) and Fredericksburg. The camphosts are sort of typical for Corps of Engineer parks — heavy on “rules and regs†— but not overbearing in enforcing.

For Cranes Mill Park: We give the park a 5. Park is nice and clean. Management we give 0. They do not have a fishing pier, they close the tent sites (half of the park) which includes the pier
?! They only patrolled one time and that was at 2pm to check and see if people left their sites on time, so people were speeding around with children playing.
Our favorite thing was, you basically had to ask permission to leave the park. The gate was down (which no one paid attention to) until you beeped your horn to get their attention. That was about the most stupid thing we have ever encountered in a park, not being able to leave without talking to the gate person!

For Cranes Mill Park: Clean. Level. Nice. Big spaces. Small and quiet. Would give 5 stars but there are not full hook ups and no playground. Would stay here again. 30ft 5th wheel
