For Cades Cove Campground - Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism of the staff and camp host. Instructions with reservation conformation clearly say check in with campground host when you arrive. Unable to find host and asked a ranger and he didn’t know either. The following day I was criticized for not checking in at a location as you enter the campground high was not a host site. So I was critiqued for following their rules. Although the campground is fine, the people running it created a negative experience.

TG

For Cades Cove Campground - Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Cades Cove is a fabulous National Park campground. There are a ton of activities right near the campground. It has a big and well stocked store. We stayed in the generator loop and for the most part folks limited their use, but they are used. The only downside to this campground is that there were no showers and the bathrooms were not super clean. We had a shower in our 29' RV, so we managed. We stayed 3 nights and had a blast!! As with most popular attractions, the very early mornings are the best time to visit. There is absolutely no cell coverage, so be ready to be off the grid.

Caro

For Cades Cove Campground - Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Sign at entrance of the park said campground full. I decided to go anyways, only to find out most tents sites are available.... clean sites. Toilets are clean. No showers, which after riding bike and hiking is kinda necessary.... some did quick rinse at the dump station.. hehe. Clean cold water! Every spot has a fire pit. Store sells logs. Rental bikes available at the store so you can ride the loop on wed. and sat. mornings. :) deer came by me while I was chilling by fire. Heard coyotes at night.Friendly staff/rangers.

For Cades Cove Campground - Great Smoky Mountains National Park: This seemed to be the most popular and commercial campground in the actual GSMNP. It is large, with a pretty big store. There are no hookups, no showers and no internet anywhere (and no signal). The nearest town is about a 15 min drive where we both had a shower and stopped at their coffee place to check messages (we needed to that week, otherwise we might not have made that effort). The campground was nice, quiet for the amount of people, and the area and loop are gorgeous. Being so close to the loop, we drove it every evening and rode our bikes on Saturday morning when it is closed to cars.

Scamper camper

For Cades Cove Campground - Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Cade's Cove is one of the best places to camp in the Smokies. Make reservations early for the fall. Plan to stay a while, slow down and enjoy the loop road, enjoy the wildlife. No showers.
