For KOA Journey Mitchell: We stand here for one night and found the host very friendly. The pull through sites are easy to get in with plenty of room between units. We have three dogs and liked the dog park available - two separate areas with a safe entry area to get in. Dog waste collection areas throughout the campground. The best part was the mowed walking areas in a tall grass meadow behind the campground to give the dogs lots of sniffing areas. Laundry room was clean with a nice lending library. Showers were the BEST! Rain head shower with plenty of hot water. This was an amazing break from boondocking in the Black Hills.

Joesmainship

For KOA Journey Mitchell: This is a bit better than the typical KOA but has a lot of the same pros and cons. The Pros: Great helpful staff with escort to your site, all pull thrus, FHU, strong WiFi, pool, mini golf, tornado shelters around the park. Far enough from I-90 to mitigate traffic noise, nice rural area but close enough to town for shopping and restaurants, lots of mature shade trees. The Cons: High price, sites way too close together, barely enough room to open an awning, they advertise 1 OTA channel but I couldn’t pick it up and no cable TV. If you don’t have satellite TV, you are out of luck here. Given all that, it is an okay short stay if you don’t mind the price.

Jr

For KOA Journey Mitchell: Stayed here during a regional soccer tournament. Comfortable quiet place that is not overly crowded. Staff was friendly and very responsive. Wish more campgrounds were this peaceful at such a low price. Would definitely recommend if you're passing through or want to enjoy Mitchell, South Dakota.

Pete

For KOA Journey Mitchell: I called the resort two days before arriving and used my koa membership when scheduling. Upon arriving and checking in I was led to my site. It was a
30 amp site and I use 50. I went back to the office and was told that no 50 amp sites were available. I never had this experience before when scheduling by phone. At least they refunded my deposit but with an attitude. We went to a nearby good Sam park that had 50 amp available.i was told that I did not ask for 50 amp.

BARHJ

For KOA Journey Mitchell: We came in late (10:00 PM) on a cross country trip. We called and they "Jim" were very friendly and accommodating. Their late registration board was great and they had an excellent map of the campground which allowed us to pick a site without disturbing other campers. The campground and facilities were top notch. They even had the heat on in the bathrooms !! Kids loved that. Kids also loved "Pete" the Super friendly cat. The grocery store had everything one could need at a campground. We only stayed one night, but would definitely stay here again. Kids give it 10 stars !!!
