For Pickerel Lake East SRA: Pros: The campground is on the lake and site 51 backs right up to it, though it is hidden with a thicket of underbrush and trees, with a sliver of a view of the lake. Friendly and helpful rangers. Site 51 was level enough, but the site south of it looked more level. Lots of birds. Grassy sites. Free hot showers and the restrooms were clean. Electric hookups.
Cons: When we arrived, our picnic table had been placed in the middle of our driveway. We moved it, but wondered how a single frail person would manage. There is only one shower stall in the women's restroom. The camp host was a little off. Water spigots in the campground were commandeered by hoses used by the host to water the place.
We stayed here in June in a campervan.
