For Lake Hartwell State Parl: Roads are in dire need of a resurfacing. Very worn and narrow. The bath house was very clean and air conditioned. Close to interstate which is good, but road noise can be heard. We will return if in the area.

For Lake Hartwell State Parl: The price is good. The roads are in really bad shape. They have been doing a little maintenance to some of the sites but some are pretty rough- broken and crumbling asphalt, water erosion, low hanging branches. We live nearby and stay here frequently. It’s cheap and almost never fills up. The sites on the lake loop have great views but are close together. The sites on the other loops are in the woods and most are well spaced. There is a playground and a boat ramp with trailer parking area just for the campground. There is another one in the day use area close by.
It’s right off I-85 but the rolling hills block most of the noise.
There is a little camp store with a few essential items. There is a Dollar General less than 5 minutes away if you need more.

For Lake Hartwell State Parl: Location is great. Very few lake accessible sites. Lots of trash left on sites and along roads inside camp area. My site (79) was level and private, (on the lake without view or access). Camp host never came around or cleaned sites after people left. My site was dirty on arrival and the picnic table ready for the dump. Women’s bathroom filthy. Only give them 2 stars for location. Camp site host job must be cushy here.

For Lake Hartwell State Parl: Great place to stop over night. They were closed when we arrived but directions for overnight camping were clear and easy. Campground was close to interstate and quiet. Beautiful park. Great prices. Felt safe.

For Lake Hartwell State Parl: This SC Campground is less expensive than the Georgia one on the other side of the lake. Although the bathhouse near our site (#10) was visually attractive - water temperature in the handicapped shower was impossible to control and drainage was so poor in regular shower that water flowed into the dressing area. Most sites are a reasonable distance apart and many have a great view of the lake. Convenient stop when traveling on I-85.
