For Oak Plantation Campground: Great park. Sites are spacious with nice grass. Super convenient to downtown Charleston. The traffic on the road to the park entrance gets ridiculously busy but that’s not the parks fault. The office staff could use a few lessons on customer service …..and answering the phone.
Overall our stay was enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.

For Oak Plantation Campground: Dollar signs shouldbe changed from three $$$ to $$$$$$$. Almost $70 a day. $660 a week. It's just not that classy of a park to justify those rates.

Debbie
For Oak Plantation Campground: Good location for visits in Charleston. About 25 minutes from historic Battery/Walled City Area. Clean, easy parking. Did not use the bath house or laundry. A bit alarming when we saw the office building....had iron bars on the windows and pretty run down. Looked like a lot of full timers. We had no problems at this Park.

For Oak Plantation Campground: Were were in a 40’ 5’er. Nice spacious mostly grassed and shaded campground. Campground is older and could use a little updating of some of it’s amenities. Weird,.... the pool is located at the entrance to the park right next to the very busy four lane US17, with no privacy, not good. Small laundromat. We were in a long pull through site with shade, the pad was compacted gravel. Most of the easy to back in parameter sites are very big, fully grassed and fully shaded. I will go for one of these next time. Unfortunately these parameter sites are going to put you closer to traffic noise as the park is bordered on three sides by busy roads. There is noticeable traffic noise. 15 min. from downtown Charleston. 25 min. from Folly Island/Beach which is worth visiting. Be aware that if you come in from the South on US17 you will have to turn left into the park crossing the very busy US17 S. This will definitively be a pain if you catch it during peak hours traffic, arriving mid-mornings or mid-afternoons will make your crossing easier.

Jim
For Oak Plantation Campground: One of the nicest campgrounds we’ve visited. Courteous office personnel greet you and explain the campground, traffic and ways to navigate the traffic in the area. We stayed three weeks and throughly enjoyed our time here. Will definitely return if they have a spot for our Class A and look forward to another stay in Charleston.
Chris, in the office, was always accommodating and eager to assist in any way he could, weather it be answering my questions or assisting our guest that came to visit.

For Oak Plantation Campground: Very nice campground. We are in rear area, so wifi is spotty. If coming from south. I recommend that you position yourself in left lane a couple miles before the turn. Once you arrive, the wait to cross Route 70 can be long, but eventually some kind person will let you thru. We will stop here again.

Ferret
For Oak Plantation Campground: Very well maintained campground. We were in a site the second row from the back and found the sites to be very close together. The Wifi was so slow as to be almost useless. Next time I would request a site closer to the front which has sites spaced much further apart. Hopefully the WiFi would be better as well.
