For Homestead Family Campgrounds: This campground is in a lovely wooded area off a very busy road. The campground was obviously neglected for a long time, as parts of the infrastructure are really run down; however, many sites are currently undergoing rehabilitation. The sites are a mixed bag. Some are in a heavily forested area, and some are on open grass. Some are spacious and private, and some are right on top of each other. So your experience will depend heavily on which site you are given. Only the seasonal sites have sewer hookups; there are two dump stations in the campground to handle everyone else. Although the campground advertises itself as big-rig-friendly, I would not advise brining a large RV. Some of the sites are large enough, but maneuvering in the campground will be tricky. Also, the road to the campground is a narrow twisty 2-lane road with a one-lane bridge on each side of the campground. It would not be fun to drive in a big rig.

For Homestead Family Campgrounds: Would absolutely not recommend coming here in a big rig. While it looks like it’s not far off 476, it is 6 miles of narrow windy roads not made for big vehicles. There was a 15 ton weight limit bridge, and a one lane bridge just before the park. Pulled in and the office was open but nobody there.. at 2:45pm. A sign said if you need help call this number. We called and it went to voicemail. So we sat and waited about 15 minutes. A girl came in and said sorry I thought my mom was here. We had been told we had a long pull through. She took me up to see the site and I said no way. We would have dragged our hitch to get into it. So she put us in a site out in the open and said we could only go in it because it hadn’t rained yet. You have to drive off the gravel to pull into it and it gets soft. We paid $45 for electric and water only and I would never come back here. Not impressed. We are in a 41’ Class A motorhome.

For Homestead Family Campgrounds: My husband and I were looking for a close campsite that felt like a getaway. Homestead was wonderful! Very large and semi-private sites that are all nestled in the woods. Very clean and it’s managed by wonderful people. We had a great time!

For Homestead Family Campgrounds: I passed over this because I read "tents and 21 ft max RV" If I had continued to read, it also says they " accepts big rigs, 40 full hookups"
We went to a nearby park and were crambed in between 2 big units (we have 25 ft) and backed up next to the paviion and the pool. This park does a great job with kids, but PA announcements were more than we could hande and the cost was high. so we took a second look at HOMESTEAD.
It was half the cost and we got one of the nicest sites we've had in the last 3 months. Park is backed up to a forest preserve and spaces are well seperated so it was very private and so quite. We would highly recommend this park. Nice playground, clean facilities and excellent service

For Homestead Family Campgrounds: This campground was clean and quiet during our two day stay. Nice playground and large sites either in a "woodsy" area or grassy.
