For Clackamette RV Park: Hosts could not have been nicer. (I shared references here with them and they replied that there was a host a few years back who was so bad they still hear things about him!) Park has four rows: One back-in, two pull-through, and one along the river edge that’s drive-in (or back in a rear-lounge trailer). Lanes and spaces were once paved or gravel but park has been flooded and gravel now contains river silt so is slightly dusty (but all is firm and most spaces are level). Very pleasant stay; river-front spaces are well worth the higher fee! (Note: Dump station is in park outside of RV area and is 24/7 for a fee, but fee is waived for RV guests.) Restrooms are available not far away but RV area is strictly for “self-contained RVsâ€. Rv area is strictly first-come-first-serve, but checkout is 1:00 so around that time is best chance of getting a space or a good space. (They tend to be busy at all times, get a lot of “passing through†guests as well as some local weekenders.)

For Clackamette RV Park: Very good location for a suburban location. This is not to be compared to Crater lake of the Pacific ocean. This is a very handy campsite by the river next to a boat ramp, with a small shopping center across the street. good for short stays while visiting family in the area.

For Clackamette RV Park: Camp hosts unpleasant and unpredictable. Absolutely no reservations, must have RV there to book a site. Don't even think about trying to set anything up ahead of time or send anyone down to book it for you. You must drive the rig in to get a site and have current tags. The tags aren't an issue for us, but they are for some, so thought I'd mention it. Visitors park outside the park, everything strictly enforced.
Park itself is nice by the river and green space across the road to walk the dog.
Gates close at 10pm, so don't plan on getting your car out after then. You can park outside the RV park and walk in after 10pm if you arrive late.
There are homeless around, but we didn't have any trouble with them. Just use normal safety measures as you would in any city. There is a fair amount of traffic down to the river and people fishing, which we found interesting to watch.
The park is nice and convenient to most things in the Portland area. As long as you can avoid the hosts, and remember the rules, you'll probably have a nice time.

For Clackamette RV Park: We rarely spent any time during the day here but our most memorable moments are that the camp host was off his meds. We couldn't use our furnace because he said it was too loud during quiet time. We got yelled out for having a visitor. We were repeatedly told not to drink despite the fact that we hadn't been. On and on. Not an agreeable guy.
In the plus side we were right on the river. Every day it's filled with fishermen and ducks. It's really beautiful right in town.
On the negative there are bathrooms in the park locked nightly. The park gate is locked at 10 so you have to walk in. Curfew. The ambulance stages in the upper parking lot so there are sirens often.
You pay your money and take your chances. Dog friendly.
