For KOA Astoria Warrenton: This is a very nice but very large KOA. Lots of elk in the area. Rather expensive.

For KOA Astoria Warrenton: We absolutely LOVED this campground; it was the nicest we’ve ever been to. The amenities were great; this is the first time we’ve ever seen outdoor camper kitchens and it was so appreciated. The bath house near our site was just redone and pristine. I could see it being busy during peak season, as it’s a large campground, but it was spacious enough with more than enough amenities throughout to make the crowd feel small.

For KOA Astoria Warrenton: Absolutely stellar public facilities. The only bathrooms we’ve ever experienced in 40 years of winter camping that were actually as warm as one would wish. It is a huge KOA so I’m guessing most TV of the negative reviews were here in high season. The rest of the year it’s PERFECT. Thank you to the staff.

For KOA Astoria Warrenton: This park is huge & should be for families only. Lots of constant traffic, staff & others. This isn’t a place to sit outside & read a book, not tranquil at all. Very busy
Lots of rules due to Covid, which is ok.

For KOA Astoria Warrenton: this is a big park with a LOT of amenities. perfect for families and sightseerers. ive stayed here 3 times in the last 3 months - once in a cabin and twice with my travel trailer. there is a LOT of constant vehicle traffic within the park (mostly staff) which i found excessive during each of my stays and almost NO ONE oberves the speed limit including the staff despite the constant presense of children. some small litter in the RV sites (the last site i stayed in had dozens of cigarette butts littered throughout the campsite). many of the asphalt pads are uneven and damaged by tree roots making it hard to level your RV but in all fairness this park is currently upgrading a lot of the gravel sites to concrete pads. the free wifi is spotty at best (like almost EVERY KOA ive been to) and is pretty much worthless - signal strength is often poor and constantly drops out. i dont even bother using it and last time i was here i was never able to connect. and then there is the $20/person "resort" fee...i only use the laundry and cable tv service and dont appreciate having to pay for this extra if im not using their premiere amenities like the hot tub/pool/free breakfast etc... their online website offered my campsite for $35/night (winter rate w/my KOA value card) but ended up being $46/night when it came time to pay the bill - something i dont really appreciate but is typical of every KOA and should be expected. they did however drop the rate to $41/night when i extended my stay to 7 days. additionally their propane price is extremely overpriced (something like 3.80/gallon!!). on the flip side this KOA does offer more resort-like amenities than most and is fairly well maintained and upgraded. the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. the dog run is one of the better ive seen for a KOA and was clean. the numerous laundry, toilet and shower facilities are very clean and well maintained. its very close to the local beach attractions and only 5 minutes to the local walmart, fred meyer, costco and numerous fast food outlets. i spent a couple nights in one of their cabins - it was very clean but well worn & outdated; the 2 tvs were very small and sometimes did not work at all. overall, this is one of the better KOAs but overpriced for what you get unless you are using the resort features. if i didnt want their cable tv to watch NFL playoffs and do my laundry i would have continued staying at the state park across the street for $34/night with full hookups that offered prettier, secluded and much quieter sites despite no tv reception. its a good park but it could be better for the price.

Christmas
For KOA Astoria Warrenton: We have been traveling in the East in our RV for the last 15 months. This time we flew to Oregon to be with our kids and grandkids for Christmas. We stayed in a cabin and our kids stayed in the RV site. I was impressed with the selection that the RV section had. The first RV sites had a lot of trees and shade and cover. The second part of the park was very open. We did notice that some sites had a cement pad and some didn't. The restrooms were clean and very nice. The showers are small individual showers separate from the restrooms, they looked very clean, but not very large but provided secure locked privacy. We don't usually take advantage of all the extra items that KOA provides, but they did have a lot of things for children, and two pools one inside and one outside. The inside one had a very nice large hot tub.
We were surprised that the web site said that most of the RV sites were full. I have a feeling that in the winter they don't open up all the sites, since many were vacant.
The cabin we stayed at was pretty new and very nicely designed. They had two bunks in one corner that could be separated from the rest of the cabin by sliding doors. They had a microwave, tv, air conditioner, hot plate, small fridge, coffeemaker and provided some paper plates and plastic utensils.
Negatives: We didn't have a chest of drawers to put away are clothing. We didn't have a place to set our suitcase. They didn't supply any kitchen supplies. The sink in the bathroom didn't have any counter space.

For KOA Astoria Warrenton: We arrived early and they would not let us check in. Told us to go across the street to Ft. Stephens & park. We have a 40' MH with a tow so have to know ahead we will be able to get around in a state park. Went back to office at 2:30, check in is a ridiculous 3:00. It was total chaos with RV's in the street and in small check in area and a long line in the office checking in. I had reserved 2 sites and we each had a $10 off coupon from our KOA the night before. He could not figure out how to do it so asked the registration manager and he didn't know either! We have stayed here twice before but in the Fall when the park is empty. This time was August for one night on our way South. Never again! Until they get better registration people who know what they are doing.
