For Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area: We stayed for about a week in August 2022. Be warned - the site is very remote and Post gate schedules vary, so you will be driving to get in and out of the installation during your stay. Host was friendly and we checked in without issue. Laundry facilities were small and in need of updating, but overall it’s a well kept site. We would return for another stay.

For Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area: Stayed here one night for a niece's graduation from basic training. Made last minute phone reservation and they didn't require military affiliation, even though I am a veteran. It was very windy and cool, but the lake looked interesting for calmer conditions. Decent campground and clean but older bathrooms/showers, and the WiFi was good.

For Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area: Very nice area with a wonderful camp host. I did not use the laundry or bathroom facilities.
The only downfall to the campground is the wind, we were there for two weeks in mid March.
Perhaps there could be a few more trees planted along the perimeter of the campground or the road
running along the campground on the north? Lots to see and do in the area.

For Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area: The people and the area was wonderful. To bad The old Planation isn’t anywhere as good as it was in the 80 s no atmosphere The Meers Resurant couldn’t get help , because of the wu flu, so all they had was the sandwich’s and no steaks
The Fi wi didn’t work for 4 days and when it did it was sporadic

For Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area: Wonderful place even with no shade in 100 degree temperatures. Lots of amenities and everything is kept up - although bathrooms could use a little more attention. Decent wifi. Lots of things to see and do in the area. Quiet. We will definitely return - maybe with kids as it was very kid friendly.
