For Sheppard Point: We were in site 28 and it was a lovely big site, pretty view of the water. This spot would have gotten a higher rating except for 2 things: the bathhouse was disgusting. Both toilets were stopped up with visible excrement and there was some kind of bug infestation. Thousands of them on the walls, the floors. We don’t always use the bathhouse but when it doesn’t have sewer hook-ups we do so we don’t have to dump as often. We didn’t here. Second is the lake. It looks pretty from our site but is filthy to swim in. The locals call it mud lake and that is the truth. But if you are gonna stay here, site 28 has plenty of shade and in my opinion, is the best site here.

For Sheppard Point: $20 for sites with electric and water. Restrooms are dated, but clean with free showers. There is a boat ramp and a swimming beach adjancent to the camping area, and a hiking/equestrian trail, although it was too hot for us to hike. Sites are extrememely close together. Our neighbors' picnic table was literally 3 feet from our back window. The sites in the equestrian area looked a little more private than the sites on the lake. Camp hosts were very friendly.
