For Maumee Bay State Park: We stayed for the first time at Maumee Bay for 2 nights in October and loved it. Big, level sites with trees and bushes in between for good privacy and lots of trails to walk and bike around the lakes and to the beach. Our favorite was the boardwalk trail next to the nature center. Plus, there are lots of other bird and wildlife preserves within 20 minutes of the park so it’s a great base camp to explore the area. I also appreciated that they already have sewer hoses hooked up and ready at the dump station to make the process faster when leaving.

For Maumee Bay State Park: One of the best state campgrounds that I’ve stayed at in the last 3 months of travel. I would definitely stay again.

For Maumee Bay State Park: Best state park I’ve ever stayed at. Clean and well run. Large level grassy private sites. Lots of paved bike paths. You will need a cell phone booster if you want reliable cell service. Without a booster the service is spotty and intermittent.

For Maumee Bay State Park: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in early October. Staff super friendly and helpful. Large, level, private sites. Only electricity, no water. Clean modern restrooms. Hot private showers. It wasn't busy on Tuesday and Wed. When we were or showers may have a line. Very well run park with lots to do. Bike paths excellent.

For Maumee Bay State Park: Very large campground, with several “loops,†sites are angled with plenty of low vegetation for privacy, paved, and level. OH state parks have only electric, which was over-whelmed in July, thus a power failure in our loop. Hosts shut down breakers until campers returned, to avoid power surge when restored. Most sites have no shade. Mowed grass still harbored ticks, which scampered up chair legs onto our shirts. Bathhouses serve two loops, were clean and adequate though, sometimes a line formed for the 2 showers. Paved bike/hike path to beach and amphitheater. Dump station, trash container easily accessed upon departure. Deer at dusk, birdsong at dawn, rabbits anytime, hawks overhead.

For Maumee Bay State Park: This is probably one of the nicest campgrounds I've been to. It was superclean, staff was very friendly, it was quiet at night, lots of trails for bicycling, walking and hiking, and going to the beach. Even the dump station was clean where they provide a sewer hose for you to hook to your RV and a water hose to clean out your tanks. Then there's potable water and trash bins for you to dump all of your trash.

For Maumee Bay State Park: Large park with 30 amp electric only. Only 1 dump station, which is very busy on weekend mornings. Park has small army of volunteers that really do a great job keeping the park clean and have activities (ice cream socials, donuts and coffee, movies) on a regular basis. We enjoyed the walking trails and large sites. The downside is 30 amp which is taxed when the park is full, and limited hook ups (only matter if you stay for extended time, of course). Resort nearby with restaurant and golf course. Restrooms clean and abundant.
