For Mill Creek: This is a beautiful campground with sunny, wooded and lake front sites and we enjoyed our time there. We camped on a site right on the water in a non electric loop. It was very quiet but it was also not the weekend. This was only a half hour from home and we will probably come back. That being said this campground has lots of problems. From talking to others there we learned that they contracted someone to cut the grass. This is a guy and a ride mower. The whole park had grass about a foot tall and it’s a really large park. The bathrooms and shower house needs to be updated. There was hot water showers but really run down. Every morning you see people who work there riding around in carts but I never seen them stop and work on something. Never seen a camp host working other than working the front booth. They seem to know they have a good thing going with no one to oversee them. Most disturbing was the best spots were reserved but no one was camped there. In my loop there was only one other family. Camp site stay tickets still hanging on posts from weeks before. No one looked at the sites to clean. It’s a SHAME. This could be a great place with someone in charge.

For Mill Creek: Wow! Our first stay in a COE campground! What a great surprise! The staff was well informed, customer oriented and helpful. There were regular Ranger patrols. The campsites were large, well wooded (for privacy) hard packed gravel that was level. The restrooms and shower houses, although older, were all clean and well maintained every time we used them!

For Mill Creek: This is our second Army Corp campground and given that the first one in Alabama was 5 stars for us, we had expectations. It didn’t quite meet them and it really had to do with the desk staff and moderate difficulty in getting our fresh tank filled. Our first issue is that check in is not until 5 PM & according to staff, strictly enforced especially coming off a weekend (we arrived Sunday). At check in, we were given a parking card and no directions or map until I asked. I was told earlier over the phone that potable water was at the dump station & was told this again when we arrived. But there is no potable water at dump station, which by the way is one of two in working order for campground with almost 300 sites. Finally got to the potable water filling site which is on the wrong side of road for those coming in and wanting to fill tank. Our campsite was fairly level, near the water. It rained a lot while there but no flooding issues like some other sites had. Overall, plenty of space between sites. This is a busy park for local boaters and jet skiers, but quiet. Lots of very old rigs that appear to be seasonal and used on weekends. Pleasant enough place, but unless you are there to fish or recreate on the lake, not sure there is a good reason to stay there.

For Mill Creek: This is a great place for boaters, but not much other recreation to offer. We had voltage issues on the Hickory loop during the busy, hot Labor Day weekend. Problem disappeared when most campers left on Labor Day. Only one bathhouse for over 300 campsites? We did love the huge trees at the sites, however. I found a second shower house, so I am amending my review to four stars.

For Mill Creek: Nice COE park that provides only electric at site. You should be aware that dump is not available and sounds like it will be some time before its usable. There is only one bath house that is operating for the showers and toilets, although they have porta potties stationed near all the bath houses. Pottable water is available.
This really is not a problem for a few days visit other than a dump location.

For Mill Creek: My family really enjoyed this campground. We stayed in the Hickory loop and found our site (#41) to be spacious.
The staff and camp hosts that we encountered were very nice and helpful. A camp host near us sold firewood for five dollars a bundle supporting the friends of the campground. The bundles of wood had large logs that were well seasoned.
We will be returning in the future.
