For KOA Holiday Newburgh: You better like kids if you're going to stay here. Looks like a great place for kids and families. Tight spots in the woods for big rigs. Very friendly when making reservations and checking in. Interior roads are VERY tight for a 40 foot RV, trees right up to the road, tight turns, and it doesn't help that some campers look like they're permanent and have things like easy up canopies right up to the edge of their site (aka too close to interior road!). We had a back in site with W/E only that was on a corner. Getting into the site with the corner and trees was challenging enough, and we shared the "driveway" with a camper already there with two vehicles. Not ideal. I guess we should have asked more questions when making the reservation, since we're early in the season and there were many empty sites. Site was hard packed gravel and level, interior roads paved.
We stayed here for a few days while passing through the area. Over the weekend it was crazy with kids - and lots of activities for them, then became very quiet during the week. Very little road noise - just lots of birds and a few Canadian geese.
Our Verizon mifi didn't have great strength here, but it was OK. T-Mobile and Verizon cell service worked fine.

For KOA Holiday Newburgh: Stayed July 2017 - very clean, level and shaded sites. Friendly staff.

For KOA Holiday Newburgh: In comparing this park to the other dozens of KOAs in which we have stayed, this one gets high marks for property with shade or open sky and size of spaces and low marks as to maintenance of the facility. The big draw is proximity to NYC and the bus tour offered. Activities on weekends for families. Many regulars from the area come here each weekend. It is also way off the beaten path. Company-owned by management that doesn't manage up to par for family-owned KOAs.
