For Smith Point County Park: This was the weirdest campground we have ever stayed in. We arrived later than expected but there was still an employee present, he was great. He told us that he was working late because there were so many people checking in. We got to our site and there was a steady stream of vehicles coming in for the next two hours. This was 9pm on a Friday night. Quiet hours began at 10pm but it was well after 11 before the voices, music and traffic died down. Then at 5am the traffic started again, people firing up their engines and moving out. This would make sense if we were at a truck stop along a highway, but this is the end of Long Island. The bathrooms were less than stellar. I hate to complain but no soap dispensers or shower curtains really bothered me. I’d rather sleep at a truck stop.

For Smith Point County Park: The reason for my low rating of smith point beach camp ground is that the reserving of sites are absolutely ridiculous. You can only go on computer at 7 pm and you can never get through to reserve a campsite. Absolutely ridiculous! Call for information and you see available sites but we either get an error or it states that no sites available! We called and was told how to do this to no avail. We love it there but obviously can't get a site. Poor review from me!
