For Green Lakes State Park: We visited Green Lakes SP to meet up with friends staying there. We visited on weeknights in mid-July in our 25 foot motor home. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities. There are 2 campgrounds at Green Lakes SP - Pinewoods and Rolling Hills. We stayed at Rolling Hills. It's a pleasant, clean campground with a mix of sites with different sizes, shapes, shade, sun, trees, privacy, etc. The sites were grass/gravel and most needed a bit of leveling. One loop had electric hookups while the rest were primitive. There was usable ATT and Verizon cell coverage. There's a dump station at the entrance/exit to Pinewoods CG. Green and Round Lakes are beautiful! There are miles of multi-use trails in the park and there's a swim beach. Arrangements can be made to paddle on Green Lake. There's an entrance to the Erie Canal/Empire State Trail across the strees from the SP entrance.

For Green Lakes State Park: Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of Green Lakes State Park Campground. The campground is fairly easy to get to, even though it is just outside of Syracuse. All roads are paved, even in the park and around the campground. The campground is near town, so shopping is easy. The office was open and the people were friendly. We went in the office to register with no problems. The campground is large but there are only a few full hookup sites and fewer that fit our size RV. Most of the pull thru sites are large and full hookup. Many of the backin sites are too small and many do not have sewer or are only 30 amp.
All have a fire pit and a table. We had site 12 and I feel it was the best choice. Close to the bath house and the hot sun was on our back side of the RV. Even though the sites are paved, they are not level. We had to raise the front by 6 inches and one side by 4 inches. All the pull thru sites are in full sun. I would choose sites 12, 1 or 30. Site 30 is a back in site, but I would pull in to so I would face the open space. The bathhouse was open and clean. They were very nice. They have a huge beach area at the lake that gets very busy almost every day. They have a restaurant at the golf course which is located at the top of the park. They have garbage and recycle bins that you drop off. They have no Wifi, so have a hot spot or something. There is no cable. We could pick up several channels using over air antenna. There is no road noise at all. So here is why I gave only 4 stars. No cable and no Wifi. It is a very busy park, maybe too busy. Pull thru sites are all in full sun and it can get hot in June. Sites are not level.
Although we loved our site, I do not believe we would go back.

For Green Lakes State Park: Really nice state park. We are here right now and it is really full (Labor Day is coming up) but we got a nice site in the Pine Woods Campground. It seems like a lot of local NY residents. This site is electric only, which I didn’t realize it wasn’t water when I booked, but it hasn’t been an issue. The sites are well spaced and paved. The bath houses are really nice. We had a flat tire when we arrived on our MH and a local tire company came and fixed it. We love the trails! Some are walking only but there are a lot of bike trails. We left the park and rode the Erie Canal Tow Path today (which is right across the road) it is 36 miles of mixed surface. If you have dogs they do check their papers so make sure you have your rabies certificate. Definitely would return if we ever come this way again!

For Green Lakes State Park: If you have the opportunity to stay at this state park I would highly recommend it. We stayed at at the Pinewood campground (there is a second campground but I did not check it out). We had a pull through site with full hookups. There were back in sites with full hookups, electric/water and electric only. The campground is very well maintained and the restroom/shower rooms were awesome (individual shower rooms). Small camp store right in the campground. The lakes are an emerald green when the sun is out. Something about it being a closed system keeps contaminants out. There are excellent walking trails around the lake and for bikers the Erie Canal bike path is across the street from the park. It is in busy area with all you could need but when you are in the park you would not know it. Short trip to Syracuse. We have already schedule our return visit

For Green Lakes State Park: State Park has two campgrounds - both have good size level sites in wooded areas. Rolling Hills has 23 Electric Sites. Restroom was redone at some point as it looks newer inside than it does on the outside. Pinewoods was in still in the process of being upgraded (opening July 1, 2016). It will have 72 electric sites - 30 of which will have full hook ups. The two new restrooms each have four private restrooms with showers. (Opening July 1, 2016).
