For AuSable Chasm Campground: This RV park is a very nice place except for 1 big problem. Some of the sights are deep sand, our site # 16 was so bad that I got my back wheels stuck. After putting my truck into 4wd was I able to get traction. After getting set up we had to deal with a huge sandy mess in our trailer every time we left with our dogs. The next day at the next park we were finally able to clean up our trailer and truck. Extremely dirty but beyond that great otherwise.

For AuSable Chasm Campground: This is our kind of park. Like a state park. Site was level (52). Enjoyed being in the pines with easy access to mountain biking and disc golf behind the site. Be sure to check out the Chasm - did the via Ferrara which was super fun. Camped here in June before peak season so pretty quiet. I imagine that things will ramp up in July. Bathrooms clean. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We would go back!

Roaming canuck

For AuSable Chasm Campground: We really liked this campground. Has a state park feel rather than a resort which is what we look for. We stayed in site 52. It was level and under some great pines with mountain biking trails and a disc golf course behind us which we used everyday. We were there in June so was very quiet. Imagine once kids get out of school it would be quite active since it’s across the street from the Chasm. Bathrooms were very clean. The staff were great - informative and very friendly.

For AuSable Chasm Campground: The"road" into the campground is more like a goat trail, with numerous washouts and uneven rocks and dirt. RV site 8 is so out of level that we couldn't get our Airstream level unless we put 10" of blocking under both axles. And the whole idea of paying a"lock fee" is total BS, especially when we paid for our site, in full, 2 months in advance. The ladies at the front desk and the maintenance guy went out of their way to try and make things right, but the manager, his boss and Campspot are completely incompetent and only care about making money.

Big Rich

For AuSable Chasm Campground: We stayed here one night as we were passing through the area. The campground roads were in pretty bad shape. Mostly dirt and ruts. We have a super C motorhome on a commercial truck chassis. No problems with dragging or hitting tree roots but I could see where this might be a problem with vehicles with lower clearance or a long rear overhang. Our site was one of the more level ones but still quite unlevel side to side. We had a full hook up site so we did not use the bathroom or shower facilities. There was a small playground for the children. There seem to be several permanent residents at the back of the campground. We visited in June and the mosquitoes were out in full force. It’s a great location if you are visiting Ausable Chasm.

For AuSable Chasm Campground: We booked this campground almost a year in advance and the site we were given was pathetic. We're a34' 5r and requested full hooks. The site was so unlevel we used 4 sets of Lynx Levelers and still couldn't get level. What was the worst of it though was the electric. Our pedestal still used screw in fuses! It was supposed to be 30Amps, we never saw it. I have a house surge protector/monitor and at best we saw 111 volts at no load, and maybe 20Amps when they were less than half full. With load and the place more full, we were dropping down to 106 volts. I couldn't run my AC unit even with NOTHING else energized except my converter. When they checked the voltage they got 110 with no load and basically said that's "legal" and we're done with it. Don't stay here unless your self contained and have adequate electrical safeguards on your rig.
