For Rondout Valley RV Campground: The park has a main central road that is very crowded when full. It splits to the lawn on the left where all the amenities are. Which are a lot! An arcade and hot food, as well as the usual pool, laundry, etc. Looks like a kids paradise and there are A LOT of kids. The park is mostly locals. A lot of altered US flags flying, that may or may not be your thing. To the right is the forest which has some full hookup and a lot of non-sewer sites. There is a pump out service. I stayed at a full hookup site in the forest. It was fairly quiet except for Memorial Day weekend which, all things considered, was still relatively quiet. The only close grocery store is Walmart. It is a very isolated place, though a lot of tourist things are available within an hour drive and there is also a bus from area campgrounds to New York City.

For Rondout Valley RV Campground: Nice quiet park. I would have given them a higher rating, but Cable TV did not work, and WIFI was premium payment, not included in rate. Whren I called shortly after 5 PM for help with cable, no answer.
Update to previous review. I finally reached someone for help and was told they have not had cable for 3 years. Considering no cable, and poor WIFI I changed my rating.

For Rondout Valley RV Campground: Do not stay here if you enjoy piece and quiet. On Friday and Saturday night they have loud music until after 11pm. Sites are very muddy in the rain. No TV unless you have satellite and are not under tree.

For Rondout Valley RV Campground: This is a home base campground for us as we live in NJ about 75 miles away and, as Thousand Trails members, the campground provides a good place for us to get away for a couple of days and use this facility as a base. It's not an awful campground but not a great campground either. Were we traveling a long distance and were hoping this would be a first-rate experience, we would've been quite disappointed. They give you a good amount of room between sites, however, most of the sites are either grass or a mix of dirt and stone. Site 239 is a mixed stone/dirt site with very little stone near the connections, where it's needed most, and made for a VERY messy setup. It also made leveling a challenge as the ground was still very soft from heavy rains the night before. This is where a good stone base would have made all the difference. Water pressure is good, the campground is quiet, the roads around the campground are fair and can be bumpy. As noted above, this is close to home for us and part of our TT membership so staying here for a couple of days is doable for us.
PS: If you decide to stay in the area, check out Brios' restaurant, in the town of Phoenicia, for their sesame crust pizza. Definitely worth the trip.

For Rondout Valley RV Campground: Love it here. The staff are always super helpful. I'm not a member of the Thousand Trails group, but have thought about joining, as I love to camp. I have a tent, and a pop-up, but all the times I've stayed here have been in their cabins. They offer activities for kids and adults, all weekend long, and the other guests/residents are super friendly. Looking forward to "camping" there again next year.

For Rondout Valley RV Campground: Reserved a full hookup site for Memorial Day Weekend. We were traveling with 5 other RV'ers. Upon arrival we were taken down a mud soaked road to an area of tent campers. We were advised full hookup sites were offered to their "Msmbers" first and anything left over were made available. Sites were extremely small and uneven and were all either grass or dirt which quickly turned to pure mud as soon as it rained.
Sites were very difficult to navigate with a trailer as they were designed as tent sites.
I will say the staff was great and extremely helpful and the other areas of the park were very nice and appeared well kept. The primary reason for the low rating is the fact that they lead you to believe you reserved a full hookup site but what we got was no sewer, cable or WiFi.
