For Silver Sky Lodge Cafe and RV Park: Snowy evening. Poor road conditions. I was looking for a place and found this. They saved the day. Hook ups and a hot shower. Owner came out to the highway and found me and led me into the camp. I am a 75 year old lady traveling alone across country.

For Silver Sky Lodge Cafe and RV Park: Give this place a pass. Truly awful. Had reservations. Drove in. No one present. Nothing addressed to us indicating we were expected. Nor was there any info on how to find a spot to stay. Only note was from the manager, Mike, with a phone number. Called the number. No answer and the mailbox had not been set up, so no way to leave a message. We went on to Cave Lake/Elk Flat. Huge difference. A real campground!

My rating is given in context for where this is located. This is the Loneliest Road in America. Middle of nowhere. Flat, barren, etc. Best I could tell, there are no resorts or fancy campgrounds anywhere around. Because of how long we were driving that day, Eureka was a good place to stop. If you find yourself looking for a safe, clean place to overnight that has full hookups, this is your place! We were quite impressed with this small, little campground. It's like a parking lot...no trees, no frills. For the area...it's top notch. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. As a matter of fact, he is one reason we have such a good impression of this spot. He's a plumber and clearly handy, so the hookups were in great shape. There was even a little patch of artificial turf next to each site. Only complaint was it was pretty un-level...like 5". We survived though. ;-) We left the money in an envelope in the door slot...he didn't seem to stressed about making sure we paid ahead of time. For the area...it's worthy of a high rating...if you require resort type facilities...you'd be better served headed to Ely, NV or Carson City, NV. We'd stay here again. We camped at Silver Sky Lodge RV Park in a 25' Motorhome with tow vehicle (42' overall) and didn't have to unhook.

For Silver Sky Lodge Cafe and RV Park: OK for overnight. Long gravel pull-thru but very difficult to level. Hook-ups at.very back of site so we only used electric; water and dump too far back unless we disconnected our toad. Seemed to be mostly long term RV's. We called ahead and got a recording saying, "no reservations needed, plenty of space." No one was there to check us in, but only an instruction sheet to leave the $25 payment in Cactus box.
Suggestion: In the morning we discovered a very nice rest area immediately west of this RV park that had an 18 hour maximum stay. We would definitely prefer to dry camp there in our motorhome if in that area again.
