For KOA Halifax West: We booked a site for our 27’ toy hauler and when we arrived, we were directed to site C18. The road was narrow and the turn to get back to our site around a playground required some maneuvering to avoid hitting a truck with the side of our trailer. When we got to the site we were shocked at how short and narrow our spot was. There was no way we could fit the trailer and truck in. We called the office and were told the campground was full. The manager came over and told us that we should have no problem fitting our trailer because he’s had 40’ rigs in there. He said to back up right to the edge of the river and we’d be fine with our back end hanging over the drop. Not sure where he figured we’d put the rear stabilizers down. Thankfully we found another campground in the area that had a cancellation. We’d initially planned ten days here and had shortened our stay to five days. Not sure what we’d have done if we couldn’t find somewhere else to go on an August weekend. They’ve sacrificed any extra space to jam in as many trailers as possible. My best advice is find out your site dimensions before going here.

For KOA Halifax West: Joe was very accommodating on a very busy Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed 4 nights. I Thought it was a good spot to explore Halifax, Lunenburg and the Eastern Annapolis Valley. The sewer on our sight was plugged when we arrived but it was fixed within a couple of hours. We were in a 38’ motor home and site E6 was long enough for motor home and tow but most sites were pretty close together. We would stay here again.

For KOA Halifax West: Almost didn’t stay here based on the reviews found online. Glad I ignored them. We had a nice site by the water in Section C. All facilities were clean and we saw staff working on keeping the campground well maintained. Pool was small and lots of kids were enjoying but didn’t need the pool with the cool breezes. Used laundry and took advantage of special discounted taxi service to Halifax. All made for a good experience at our second KOA campground.
