For Raton Pass Camp and Cafe: We are so grateful for this place. We were moving to New Mexico with our camper, Uhaul, and 3 dogs in 100 degree weather. They gave us a pull through spot with extra parking. They called and texted us to check our progress to be sure we had instructions Incase we arrived after hours. It was at least 20 degrees cooler up there and the view was gorgeous. The showers were very clean and pretty. The WiFi was just enough to sign paperwork for the purchase agreement on our home. Thank you for being exactly what we needed that day. But it it’s so beautiful up there and the smell of cooking from the cafe will definitely bring us back up for a longer stay sometime.

For Raton Pass Camp and Cafe: It’s worth staying here just for the view. We stayed on the upper loop in the views of the mountains were spectacular. Sites are fairly close together. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities were all nice and clean. Wi-Fi was OK for emailing and simple Google searches. We will definitely stay here again next time through.

For Raton Pass Camp and Cafe: My husband and I stayed here for one night, 4 days before they closed for the season. Rhonda, the owner of 16 years, was very friendly and offered us plenty of recommendations of food and things to do in the area. The RV spots were clean and came with a picnic table. The views were great and the air was fresh! We had our dog, he loved the area! There was construction on the interstate during our stay, which provided a bit of noise, but nothing terrible. Rhonda mentioned they use a fresh spring for water, which made the water pressure lower than normal. We definitely noticed. We did not get very good water pressure. I recommend using the bathhouse for showering, it was very clean and the water pressure was much better! The only other thing I recommend that they improve is their internet service. She mentioned several times that the internet is intended for e-mailing, absolutely no streaming. After a long day on the road, we would’ve loved watching some Netflix before bed, but again, no streaming allowed, such a bummer! If we ever stayed here long term, it would be awesome to have better internet. Overall, I would recommend this place! Very clean, friendly staff, and beautiful views. We paid $38.19 for a 50 amp, pull-through spot for one night.

For Raton Pass Camp and Cafe: Unlike other reviewers, we are tent campers and will never stay here again - in spite of the fact that the staff were very friendly.
The tent camping is behind and down the hill from the RV area. The dirt road leading down to the camping area is very steep and at the bottom is an open sticker-grass open area where you throw your tent anywhere. There is a single picnic table, no grill, no water. There are RVs stored in the same area. All of the RV campers on the back row of the hill top are directly above you. The only bathroom is up the very steep hill and when I showered the next morning, it flooded all three shower stalls and changing areas. Bad experience.

For Raton Pass Camp and Cafe: Really nice folks running this camp. It’s on two levels, the lower clustered around the office and former cafe, the upper level sites are along a second loop higher up. There’s tent camping in the back. The sites are pretty close together. No pool or other amenities, though the scenery is magnificent all by itself. The bathrooms are sparkling clean. Will definitely stay here again if we come this way.
