For Cochiti Lake: This campground was one of the most well planned out, spacious campgrounds we have stayed at. Most or all sites have great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. New pavement and mostly level. We dry camped in one of these nice sites for $12. You can also pay $20.00 for water and electric site. Camped in a 40 foot motorhome. Be sure to do the Tent Rocks National Monument Canyon Hike. It is easy and spectacular! It's about two hours round-trip of leisurely walking. It's about a 10 minute drive from the campground. It costs five dollars to drive your car or motorhome in. You can park the motorhome at the trailhead. When driving toward the trailhead, drive slow and be prepared for the large dips in the road.

For Cochiti Lake: Really nice CG. You get 50% off with an Annual National Parks pass. I took off one star because their office hours are weird. Check - in /out was 2 pm, but the office was open 3pm to 7pm. (also 7am to 9am) All the site markers say. Reserved so if you don't know the ones that are actually reserved will have a card on them saying the dates it's very confusing. Every day around 1 pm the campers would start driving round & round trying to figure out what to do. Kinda silly. One other gripe, the water temp in the showers was not adjustable. Never seen that before and it was a tad to hot for my liking.

For Cochiti Lake: Very nice. Quiet. Newly remodeled, very clean bathhouses ,covered tables, grilles. A little out of way but worth it. Don't miss tent rocks National Monument just below the dam. Go all the way to the top of the trail! Close enough to visit Bandelier cliff dwellings also.
