For Blanco - Heron Lake State Park: Camp ground was clean and nice. Was able to hookup to 30a and fresh water no problem In November. It was a little cold but was able to use electric heater all night. I did have cellphone service although some spots at campsite were better then others for reception. Dump station is near by and there wasnt a problem using that. Shower at campground was closed for the season but vault toilets were still open. During when i went for veterans day it wasnt to crowded and most of the sites are pretty private and you wont really see or here anyone next to your site

For Blanco - Heron Lake State Park: 6/16/2023- quiet, sparsely populated. This is probably because there is no water available here until perhaps July. Did not know this when we reserved. Would not have stayed here had we known. No bathrooms, no working spigots. Dump station is open. Had to buy water by the gallon at the Lowes grocery in Chama. Chama is having water issues too. Do not recommend staying here until this is resolved.

For Blanco - Heron Lake State Park: Great campground. Clean. Sites spread out. Gravel pad. No WiFi. $14 for electric/water. Nice hiking trails. Didn’t use bathhouse. Would return. Friendly host. Very nice visitors center!

For Blanco - Heron Lake State Park: This is a beautiful place to camp! If you are thinking you will be on the lake though... Nope! You will need to drive & the fishing has not been good. Chama river fishing is good but people have no respect for the area & trash is everywhere. Anyway, sites are spacious & very private with awesome views. Great hiking trails. Lots of wildlife. The facilities are wonderful and kept very clean. It is so peaceful & really makes you feel awe of God's majesty!
