For North Point - Clayton Lake State Park: Superb, scenic, small and quiet lakeside. Only 7 sites, but there was only one other RV here during our stay in March. Full hookups, clean, only $14! Flat sites, 2 bars AT&T. Fire rings and grills. Dino tracks an added bonus, but this is an absolute gem!

For North Point - Clayton Lake State Park: Hidden small gem we planned our stay ahead of time to coincide with our route back home to Oklahoma. Our reason for staying was one to see the dinosaurs foot prints and two to get a nights rest on our last leg home. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. They have a small wildlife center and gives a history of the park and wildlife. Definitely will stay again.

For North Point - Clayton Lake State Park: Stayed here on a Tuesday night in early May. This office at the park was not open. It was not clear if that was because it was early in the season, because of budget cuts, or simply that someone got sick. And we saw this other places in New Mexico too, so if you want to have a map or info about the park - hard copies - print them before you leave home. The North campground has nice level, sites, but is right in the drive-in for the lake’s boat launch, so I’m guessing it can be pretty busy/noisy at times. May want to consider the adjoining Cove Campground, though it’s sites did not appear to be as level. Trail to the dinosaur tracks is easy and they have good signage explaining what you’re seeing. Restrooms/showers were clean, though the moths were trying to infest them when we were there. 2 AT&T bars, so we had cell service. As we found with all five of the New Mexico parks we visited on this trip, the drive out is kind of through what appears to be wasteland, and then when you get to the park, it’s pretty nice.

For North Point - Clayton Lake State Park: We love Clayton Lake State Park. The dinosaur tracks are truly amazing. The campground is nice but the sites are not really big rig friendly. We travel fulltime in a 40 ft fifth wheel & had to drive around pull thru & back in. The entrances are way too sharp & narrow for large rigs. Other than that awesome place. The hike to Dinosaur Tracks is easy. We also took the other hike & so glad we did. We saw wildlife & the views are really pretty.

For North Point - Clayton Lake State Park: Beautiful scenic park. Clean with gorgeous lake and sunset. Short trail to dinosaur tracks. Took reservations. $14 water/electric. No WiFi or concrete pads. Who needs WiFi with all this beauty! Scenic drive to reach Park.

For North Point - Clayton Lake State Park: First come first serve so when we arrived there were no regular sites left-the very nice park ranger took pity onus & let us take the pavilon space-$30 but it was a great site! Regular sites are $14 which is a fantastic deal! Come early for best sites!
