For Ponil Campground: Stayed at Ponil Campground in 24 ft MH as a base camp for exploring Historic Cimarron and the Enchanted Circle. Marie was super friendly and helpful when one of our tires threw the tread off. Marie even offered to give us a lift to bring the tire to Raton for replacement.

For Ponil Campground: We have stayed here multiple times. No complaints, everything one would expect from a rural Colorado Mom & Pop Campground. Nice size sites, shade, close to town, in short nothing to complain about. No clue about amenities as we do not use restrooms, showers, wifi, etc., FHU utilities worked as advertised. Clean, well maintained & safe, just what we paid for.

For Ponil Campground: We were looking for a full service CG in the general area to refresh our tanks after a week of boondocking. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in mid-October in our 25 foot MH.
This CG met all of our needs. The owner was helpful and friendly. The sites are arrayed across a large open grass field with the utility posts aligned RVs park alternating direction giving the sites that are close together a feeling of more spaciousness and preserving some of the common green space in the CG. There are also a few sites along the perimeter with more shade. The sites are mostly level with grass/gravel surface. There's good ATT and Verizon cell coverage. There's wifi which we did not use. There's a laundry room on site. As noted in other reviews, the CG feels a bit dated, yet everything works and we enjoyed our brief stay. We were the only guests on our visit.

For Ponil Campground: A last minute change of plans brought us to Cimarron, NM and thus we found Ponil Campground. As we arrived mid week, we had our choice of sites. We chose #11 across from the office and close to the bathrooms. Level and shady. The bathrooms and showers are fabulous and rate in our top 3. Clean, roomy with hot/cold water. The on site laundromat is also clean and includes ironing boards and irons!! Upon check in, you are provided with a key for the restrooms and laundry. A nice added touch of security. Overall, the campground was quiet with little to no road noise. We will definitely return to Ponil Campground on any return visits to Cimarron.

Charlie
For Ponil Campground: Nice quiet camp. Not overly full when we were there but would be tight if more spaces are rented. A bit dated but the hookups all worked. On a major highway but on the low traffic side of town. Big shade trees , creek at the back , and a bear in the dumpster every night. Not bad.
