For NJ National Guard Training Center: The CG is basic. FHU, bath house (we didn’t use it). The MWR employee is new so the reservation process was awkward. When we arrived, having a confirmed site, the gate guard told us that there was someone in that spot and there was no reservation for us. He called the MWR employee who showed up and after a wait, told us we could move to another spot. There is a lot of law enforcement activity happening all the time. So its busy. No issues while we were here other than one of the guards knocked on our door a day before our confirmed departure and asked if we were packing up to leave. We showed him the form they gave us showing the wrong dates, which they knew about. Then we showed them the email confirmation that showed the correct dates. He went away. Nice area.

For NJ National Guard Training Center: Didn’t get a chance to stay at the campground but a couple of problems to start with. When sending the directions to Apple Maps it put us in the middle of a parking lot not even close to the base and second once we got turned around and got there no dogs are allowed. No mention of that on the initial site. To say the least very disappointed

For NJ National Guard Training Center: Very nice, quiet RV camp. Beach close by, as well as the Point Pleasant boardwalk.
No complaints, except for the beach access being closed in the evening.

For NJ National Guard Training Center: Bad decision:
1.. No dogs at all, except for service dogs.
2. RV campgrounds are located directly across from the high speed training grounds less than 100 feet. There are no guard rails to separate campers only cones as a barrier to separate the vehicles from campers.
3. Canal walk littered with around 40 to 50 dead fish with zero drainage collecting the water and dead fish together.
4. Grass areas directly around the campsites have terrible drainage, and roadsides are worse.
5. restroom facilities extremely poor, leaking running toilets with water below them ponding on the floor, so you have to hold your pants or shorts so they don't hit the floor and touch toilet water.
6. The showers had no hot water, a 15-year-old, barely working showerhead, control knobs that required holding in place, and the drains didn't begin to work until you were standing in 2"+ of freezing water.
7. MIRRORS directly above the commode pointing down, (for supervised urinalysis, why?! And a key deposit to be able to use the "jail bathroom.
8. No on-site camp host.
9. No one to reach by phone, and unable to leave a message.
10. The rates are about double for a typical military campground, and far less than what you would expect.
I was really looking forward to this trip here, but now contemplating leaving early
I apologize for the rant, I'm just very disappointed and don't want any other veterans to suffer to this disappointment as well.

For NJ National Guard Training Center: Spent a week here in September 2017. Beautiful time of the year for the New Jersey coast. Large full hookup sites on Stockton Lake and at this time of year hardly anyone using the campground or the beach except on weekends.

For NJ National Guard Training Center: Stayed here 9-11 June 2017. Old school reservations via phone call on Wednesday 9-11. Sites are nice within walking distance of the beach. The place was not full either with 5 of the 9 sites occupied. Full electric, water & sewer all sites. Would have given it a five star rating expect for qwerky reservations and the sewer connection in up the curve then an elevated pipe. Who ever designed this never emptied a black tank before. At the beach two hours from home we will be back.
