For Bandits Roost: This is our second visit here. We’re towing and found the hilly, narrow roads difficult to maneuver. We camped in section B. Close neighbors over the weekend. However, the tent sites are very nice.
Trails are not maintained and one it’s closed. This was the case 2 years ago as well.

For Bandits Roost: Usually we love CO E campgrounds. But this is older and sites are close. Many locals come up with their boats and campers. Which is fine except there are multiple cars and a lot of people at each site. Most sites are on top of each other. Site 92 or 93 have more privacy and woody. Would not return.

For Bandits Roost: Spent two nights at this campground, it is in a great location, very convenient if you want to go to a few NC State Parks or the Blue Ridge Parkway, also on the reservoir so plenty of activities! We had a great site overlooking the water and we would definitely love to go back. The shower/bathroom facilities were kept very clean! The only issue or thing that would make it better for me would be to have better shower separation other than small curtains, maybe a door or better curtain. Other than that we were extremely happy with this campground and can't wait to go back! Lots of grocery and other stores in the area, as well as food places. You can also rent watercraft nearby to make use of the reservoir. Highly Recommend!

For Bandits Roost: ACE campgrounds are usually well kept, near water, and quiet, and this one is no exemption.
We originally booked and paid for three nights, but did not make it until the third night. Upon
arrival, we were informed of their strict no-show policy: cancellations must be called in within
24 hours, or no refunds on nights unused, and your site is released, even if you paid for it.
I am not complaining, as I camp in many state parks where potential campers are turned away
because sites are reserved and paid for and often you'll see reservation tags on sites that stay
empty all weekend. ACE is trying to address this issue, hence their rather draconian policy.
So, we were able to get our original site after all for the third night, but we had to repay for the
site! Should have read the small print!

NC Stan
For Bandits Roost: This is our "go to" campground for quick weekend get aways. It is about an hour from our house. We love the easy access, large sites, and water views. As with all COE campgrounds we have visited, there are no sewer connections, but the sites do have 50A/30A power and water. The bath houses are old and just have a flimsy curtain so we usually do not use them. The campfire smoke can get really thick sometimes and make sitting outside a challenge. Our biggest complaint of the campground is incoming campers trying to run us off our site before checkout time. This happens almost every time we visit. I really wish the gate attendants would not let people in until the site is empty. It makes for a stressful ending to an otherwise nice camping experience.

For Bandits Roost: Stayed in a 40' motorhome very private and quiet. Fairly close to blue ridge parkway. Would stay again.
