Ranger Rod

For Lake Norman State Park: Great campground built around a knob with tall pines and good spacing with paved driveways. Some sites will take more leveling than others. Excellent bath and showerhouse. We loved hiking the 5 mile Lakeshore trail which you can reach from campsite 3. Take this short access trail to the lake for great sunset views. We had 2 bars Verizon LTE.

TinkersToy

For Lake Norman State Park: Feb 2022-22foot Airstream and ram truck. Steep site entrance with short parking area. Had to use ramps to partially level the camper. Quiet park.

na

For Lake Norman State Park: If they had power and water you would never be able to make a reservation, it would be packed year round We love this park Very nice and quite Clean bathrooms and showers No power, water or sewer at sites Easily fill fresh water tank at one of the spigots We have camped with a 32 ft pull behind multiple times We usually go in the fall and winter Most sites aren't level The most private sites for trailers in my opinion are sites 20 and 24 https://files.nc.gov/ncparks/maps-and-brochures/lake-norman-campground-map.pdf Some of the best Mountain Bike trails in NC must try Monbo https://www.mtbproject.com/directory/8009639/lake-norman-state-park "Monbo is fantastic in both directions (although a lot of folks prefer it clockwise -- on even years). The trail dips and turns through the forest to create a winding and flowy singletrack favorite that can be ridden 2-3 times back to back and still keep you grinning. From the trailhead at the parking lot, follow the bi-directional connector to the rod and take a left. After crossing the lake bridge, the trailhead will be on your right." 30 miles of trails https://files.nc.gov/ncparks/maps-and-brochures/lake-norman-park-map.pdf

RVing Illustrated

For Lake Norman State Park: We live not too far away from this state park. The sites are not level. Are great for rent campers. Might be ok for pop up or small travel trailer. Otherwise, it takes some services leveling of an RV over 15-19' long. The visitors center at the beigninning of the park is new and very nice. As his is the only state park and public Campground on Lake Norman, it would be nice if it was updated and he sites leveled out. Or perhaps they could add another Campground for rvs and leave this for the rents. There is plenty of room within the park.
