For Neuse River Flanners Beach Campground: Camped three nights Thu-Sat Mar 28-30, 2024 w/o reservations; about half full but good sites available. Clean and well maintained campground with good spacing and privacy. The Hosts were super and took me fishing and we had them over for a great fish dinner afterwards. Nice hiking trail but no water access.

For Neuse River Flanners Beach Campground: Camp host was a little officious and not too friendly. Camp sites are large with good privacy and plenty were open for a walk up on Sunday in late October. Started at #21 which showed an open ground on my electric monitor as did number #19. Settled in #17 which was okay. Let camp host know about this and she did not seem surprised or concerned. Nice paved walking path around camp but the “beach†is closed off limits due to erosion. Looks like it has been that way for a while so may never reopen. Overall a decent stay but could be better.

For Neuse River Flanners Beach Campground: Hey, I'll give five stars just because surprisingly for a forest service campground, they've trimmed tree limbs and made a big rig friendly campground! Site #3 was huge and very easy in/out, but no satellite. Site #10 is currently a first-come site, and it was good enough, even got satellite! Both had 50 amp. Check with camp host though, just to keep the peace. She got a little snippy with the mister when she thought we were taking just any empty site. They had us get water at a spigot near site 24, instead of the one at the dump station. We blocked the campground road for a while, but it was a slow period of the day. At 11 a.m., check-out time, someone filling with water at the dump made for a long wait to get the road trip started. I think they need a better situation for water fills, but that's it. Perfect place for us! They even have a nice, paved trail for riding or walking. It's a little narrow, but very uncrowded. Even the main access road is nice to ride on. Flanners Beach is closed, so I think the day use pressure low right now. Another nice point! Almost to the campground, there is a pavement ends in 750 feet sign that made us nervous, but it was all paved, so not sure what that was all about! Verizon was a little weak, but we managed to stream a couple episodes on Netflix with only a couple buffering stops. Have fun! We did.

For Neuse River Flanners Beach Campground: We were visiting friends who had reservations at this CG. We're self contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We visited on a weeknight in October.
This a very nice campground. Sites are spacious, level and well maintained. Electric sites are tucked into the woods. Most primitive sites have waterfront views. There's no wifi. There was adequate ATT and Verizon coverage. Registration is self serve. The push button showers were clean with hot water.
There are nice walking and biking trails, paved and single track, leaving from the campground.

For Neuse River Flanners Beach Campground: Clean site with lots of hiking trails available, most bike worthy. $25 with electricity in 2015. Host says they are planning to close this winter to campers.
