Lynn

For Cross Winds Family Campground: Really loved this campground. Sites are very large, especially the new area (opened in the last week so, while still a work in progress, you have the sense that it will only get better). Staff and owners are great, and make you feel very welcome. Lots of rocking chairs and porch swings. They run this like all should be run. Fire rings, picnic tables, and trash cans at every site. Over the Labor Day weekend, they had bubbles for the kids, bingo, and canvas paint event (for $10-$15...I've paid $45 out in the world, and got a glass of wine)

Gary

For Cross Winds Family Campground: Nice enough campground. Nice sized spaces. Trees. Fire pits. Pretty. Gravel sites that may wash out a bit in rain so not always level. I had to reposition 4 Times to find a spot level enough to avoid the excess slope error from my HWH levelers. ( did I say the pull through was large.) Once done I would have needed a 50 ft sewer hose to reach the dump. So I just backed up and dumped on leaving. I still had to shim my back wheels to get level. Which can be dangerous because that is the wheel the air breaks are located. The real problem was the male owner. When he came came to investigate, he was rude, defensive, and accusatory. No way to treat paying customers. Stayed in a 38 ft MH.

Anna

For Cross Winds Family Campground: This campground is close to I85. We missed the turn thinking it was the onramp and had to turn around in a church lot.... The center of the campground has no shade. The turn into spot D28 was VERY tight for pour 40' fifth wheel. After moving the picnic table and fire ring we squeezed in and then enjoyed a nice shady spot. They are expanding and adding more spots. Very friendly staff.

For Cross Winds Family Campground: Nice park with friendly owners. Larger pull through sites for big-riggers looking for an overnight stop with more spacious and more private back in sites for those looking to stay a little longer than a day or two. Good Wifi and cable. Very clean bathhouse and laundry room. Picnic area and playground. The pool is a smaller than what most other campgrounds have. Some interstate noise but not loud enough to interfere with sleeping or outside activities. Overall I would give them a good review for value and amenities.

For Cross Winds Family Campground: Lovely campground just off I-85. Has both spacious sites in the woods as well as pull-in sites in the open which should have good satellite reception. Great playground with a teeter totter that looks like a plane and seats seven. Call ahead as they don't have self serve night registration when the office is closed.

Dave J

For Cross Winds Family Campground: Well thought out and decorated campground with top quality facilities, friendly owners, easy access to I-85 but not so close that traffic noise is a problem. It is off Exit 84, not 85 like the description says. We stayed overnight in a 40 ft motorhome towing a Jeep and had no problems maneuvering to a large level pull-thru. Paid $40 for one night full hook-up and there are no discount programs.

For Cross Winds Family Campground: It's close to the interstate. It's pretty well kept. Small swimming pool but it's better than nothing. Full hookups and cable. Roads and sites have gravel but not much. The office people are very nice. Close sites with no privacy. Large coaches won't like this place. Shower house and laundry house are nice. I think it's rather pricey considering what you get. Verizon 2-3 dot LTE. Good wifi.
