For KOA Holiday Boone: I had enjoyed two short stays here previously so facing a hot summer I stayed this year from just after July 4th to Hurricane Helene. The KOA is idyllic with cows surrounding it, the animals that you can feed and a small pool but they keep it nice, a good laundry room, music evenings most weekends and other activities.
It is on a steep hill. Some people drive on it better than others. Also my site required 4 inches of levelers on the downhill. The benefit is most sites you have a view past the roof your neighbor and your windows are not level so despite having fairly close sites you have a lot of privacy. One window I didn't close the blinds all summer. Most sites have nice gravel patios made level with retaining walls.
There was no damage to the KOA in the storm and the road was passible out but the road at the bottom of the hill to town is going to require considerable repairs.

For KOA Holiday Boone: I’d usually give KOA a 4 or 5 star rating as they have to meet minimum standards. This
Campground needs an overhaul. The roads are narrow and the sites are gravelled base. Plus even for our 26 feet uneven back to front and side to side. We did find a spot level by pulling to the left and forward. I think a 40 foot rig would not like the winding narrow long road to get into the place. Those in tents gave a nice grassy spot with individual tables But it is safe and quiet for one night

For KOA Holiday Boone: I gave this place 2 stars, but only because I feel some might want to get away from it all. By all, I mean a level site, actual gravel in your site, cable, OTA, or satellite, decent WIFI, etc. We're in a 45 ft MH and will have to back out this morning because the turn is too tight going forward. Trees overhang the 1 mile road into the camp, scraping the top numerous times. A gentleman camping beside me in a 40 ft. fiver told me in his 20 years of camping and 40 plus KOA's, this was the worst one he'd ever seen. I don't know about that because I've never stayed in a KOA and will be reticent in the future. Another guy came in a a nice Prevost and had to leave because his airbags couldn't level the coach.
Now, let me balance this by saying that if you have a small coach, trailer, pop-up, or tent and want a good place to take small kids, this place would probably be pretty good. Good playground and pool, putt-putt, goats, donkeys, and chickens in a penned up area - cute. Temps are cool in the summer. Lots of campfires. Just not for big rigs or folks who want to stay connected.

For KOA Holiday Boone: Very pretty park close to Boone. There are goats and miniature donkeys on site to visit with. I wouldn't call the sites cramped- they're on a hillside and each one has a space for a bench and some greenery in the terrace to the next one.
I got two bars of Verizon LTE but aside from the middle of the night they were useless. I drove around to some other RV parks and didn't find anything better. The only area with usable Verizon data is in town.

For KOA Holiday Boone: No cable and unable to use our satellite dish. Difficult for our class A 40 ft with tow to park. Sites are too close together, unlevel sites, narrow winding road to even get to park. Disappointed.

For KOA Holiday Boone: Very quiet park, lots of trees, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Several reasons for only 3 stars: very tight spacing and narrow roads make pulling in to spaces challenging for big rigs, spots are not as level as could be...also a problem for big rigs, parking for towed cars is not at the site due to small site sizes. Have to detach towed cars at the office area, just not room to tow them through the park. Also, the highways leading to the park are very narrow...if it hadn't been for the KOA signs in a couple of places I would have turned around thinking my gps was leading me astray.
