For Rainbow Point Campground: Decent, secluded spot. Electric only. Dirtball road for a couple miles that will rattle your rig pretty good in and out. Camp hosts are really nice. I had 2-3 bars of 5G with AT&T on loop B. Some of the spots are difficult to get into. I have a 28.5 bumper pull, and had to switch spots when I get there but the hosts were very accommodating. Watch out for the 18” stantions serving as a boundary to your spot.

For Rainbow Point Campground: It is beautiful and very quiet considering how close one is to Yellowstone. It has a feeling of seclusion though every spot was filled while we were here. Things to be aware of is, one, there is NO WATER. As in all hose bibs are shut off. Another con is though campground is close to West Yellowstone, the road coming into the campground is washboard. Not sure the exact distance but several miles. So make sure you bring a screw driver for a once over of the trailer and tell the kids not to open the fridge until you can do some damage control first. And lastly you may not get into your spot until 2:00, period. We had two campsites during our stay. I completely understand, but check out is noon, and no you may not move to the other site until 2. So just know there is no flexibility.

For Rainbow Point Campground: Stayed at Rainbow Point right next to the lake. Beautiful! We stayed in loop A, no services, but that’s ok. Camp host was very helpful. Verizon had 2-3 bars, so TV was on the menu at night. Mosquitoes are definitely in great numbers. Use Deet on exposed skin and permethrin on clothing! We have 3 dogs with us, and mosquitoes are a eat issue for dogs. Cannot use Deet on them, but it was suggested a bandana sprayed with permethrin would work. No trash here, this is pack in/pack out. There is a potable water bib at the entry. Speaking of entry, the road going in is washboard, my 36’ class A rumbled through at 5mph for 2 miles…

For Rainbow Point Campground: The pros: quiet, secluded and looks well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The area is heavily wooded and fun to explore. Close enough to West Yellowstone and Yellowstone to be pretty convenient. The cons: no water hookups or sewer/dump sites (this was not clear on the reservation page). Mosquitos were abundant and horrible. Would come back if better prepared.

For Rainbow Point Campground: Lots of trees surround this campground. We have 35 foot trailer and just fit into a large space. Camp host was very friendly. Bathroom were cleaned on a daily basis. Memorial weekend had quite a few potholes in the last mile to the campground. Well worth the views and relaxing campground. Will definitely come back.

Deva

For Rainbow Point Campground: Typical campground set up into four loops. My site was level, and the other looked to be as well. I was a walk-up, dry camping only. $20 seems a bit steep, but the hosts were quite nice and the campground clean. Haven’t checked out the lake yet because I jumped out for 2 seconds to put the slip on the post, and was eaten alive. In less than 30 seconds I had 10-15 bites. Make sure you bring 100% DEET! My dog was also mauled. I drove in and ALL the sites had “Reserved” signs on them but no indication the campgroup was full at the service stand. It seems they put up reserved signs BEFORE the actual reservation date, so you have get out and look at the dates on each and every one. A hassle. I finally knocked on the hosts door to see if anything was available.

For Rainbow Point Campground: Rainbow point campground was extremely well maintained, clean and very well monitored. The host were outstanding and provide great oversight of the campsites and knowledge of the area. The campsites are very roomy and well maintained. Nice access to the lake. Consist of 4 separate loops. 2 have RV hooks ups. Other two are more self contained but all sites are very good. Highly recommend for camping around the lake.
