For Potosi Campground: This is an outstanding campground! We came for one night, stayed for three, and would have stayed on if the dry ice had lasted longer.
Cons: Pit potties, hand pump for water, sites quite varied so choose carefully. Very little hiking available.
Pros: very quiet. Creek runs right through campground, and it's kid friendly. Too shallow to swim, but lots of rocks and mini rock beaches. Very cold, so bring rain boots rather than water shoes. No mosquitos in last week of August. Our kids (6 & 3) played by stream continuously.
Friendly for tent camping. There were some RVs, but only part of the campground looked accessible. The two parts of the campground are divided by the stream, and the second road would be quite rough on a camper. Indeed, it was tough on our little car!
Gorgeous sites, some with creek access, some with mountain views. Site size varied from normal to ginormous, and some sites had mini-hills between them lending privacy. Lots of big trees. Friendly campers. Ranger and sheriff drove through occasionally. Sites were well maintained.
Overall: excellent isolated campground. Be sure you have everything with you before you drive in (long drive on gravel/dirt road to get there).
