For Red Cliff Campground: Great Forest Service campground between West Yellowstone and Bozeman. Fairly busy even for September. Has both electric and non- electric sites. Road noise was the only drawback.

For Red Cliff Campground: Large heavily treed campground along the river. Sites are large and well spaced. Good number of sites available in mid-Sept., particularly in the primitive section which we chose for our 28’ Airstream. The electric section was perhaps 3/4 occupied. No dump station, but potable water fill is available opposite the dumpsters. The only negative was road noise, as the hwy is heavily used by trucks well into the night. Otherwise, a fine and much appreciated refuge after saying ‘No Thanks’ to the crowded and overpriced lots in West Yellowstone.

For Red Cliff Campground: Great national forest campground and the closest to Big Sky. I was attending a music festival there and it was only a seven mile drive from the campground. A mile or so north of the campground is a restaurant/bar called “The Corral” I would highly recommend for breakfast or lunch. The campground is divided into a primitive loop and an electric loop. I moved from one to the other and noticed the cell service to better in the primitive loop, even though not great in either. The camp host, Larry, was super friendly and accommodating. And the Gallitan River bordering the campground is beautiful and full of trout!

Marie

For Red Cliff Campground: This is a beautiful NF campground with heavy vegetation. The sites have lots of space between them (far more space than any RV park!) and feel very private. The size of the spaces are highly variable; our space easily accommodated our 41-foot 5th wheel, and there were several 45-foot Class A’s with toads in the campground as well. Highway 191 is a fantastic road, nice and wide with plenty of turn room for any size rig from the highway over a very wide bridge over the river. The campground road is gravel with enough space to get thru, there is a circle at the end of the road to turn around and we had no problem making the turn. The sites on the west side are only a few steps from the river. We have five slideouts and no need to worry, the trees are trimmed around each RV parking slot. There is plenty of highway noise but most of it is masked by the sound of the river, and almost no highway noise at night. The camp hosts were very nice. One big detraction for us was because there is a public trailhead at the turnaround, there is a lot of vehicle traffic going by on the campground road next to your rig during the day, particularly on the weekends. There are also climbers on the cliffs. One other note, because the campground is up against the cliff, we did not get any sun until noon, and since we stayed in Sept that made for rather dark and cold mornings. In July, that would probably be a positive feature but in Sept, not so much. We were very happy to have the electric service at our site. There is a large loop in the road next to the bridge where you can fill your tanks with water, plenty of room on this loop for any size rig. A very well laid out NF campground with lots of shrubs and trees, big spaces, and plenty of privacy. Highly recommend!

For Red Cliff Campground: Campground sites were decent. We had electric although I wish we would have had water as well but it was a good 2 night stay. Hosts were quite nice. Roads were full of pot holes. Slow going dodging those. All in all I would stay here again.

Sjen

For Red Cliff Campground: Pretty place by the river with lots of sites, friendly hosts, and Gallatin National Forest trail access. Some privacy and hose potable water access for fill only. No dump. Vault toilets. Garbage and recycling. More shade at electric sites than non electric. Driveway gravel and full of potholes. Good access to Yellowstone and. Big Sky.

Jmciver

For Red Cliff Campground: Stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet. No cell service at all (none!) here so that can be good or bad.
Electric only sites with a water fill hose by trash dumpsters. Vault toilets really stinky. No dump station. Ok for $20 a night. Host sells firewood for $6 a bundle.
