For Deer Run & Eagle Ridge - Trace State Park: We stayed here in August 2022. We really enjoyed this park. We stayed three days. It was beautiful, quiet, and very well kept. The bathrooms were clean. The lake was beautiful, and the grounds were well kept. Plenty of deer, lots of fishermen who said the fishing was great.
There is a boat ramp. Mostly fishing boats, but a few jet skis, and motor boats.
The only downside was taking it slow on the park roads. There were several potholes but the park rangers were repairing them while we were there. We would definitely stay here again. The lakeviews ( which are most sites) are beautiful.

For Deer Run & Eagle Ridge - Trace State Park: We stayed in May 2018. It really had the potential to be a nice park. However, the state upkeep has fallen. The roads into the park are awful. The lake has been completely drained for levee repair and it will be years coming back when and if the work is done. The office closes at 5pm yet there is no gate and shortly thereafter, all the locals come streaming in the unattended gate and joyriding through the park. On top of that, they are still charging a premium price for “lakefront “ sites when there is no lake. On the plus site, the staff was helpful and friendly and did the best with what they have to work with. The bathhouses were neat and clean. If the state ever decides to invest and bring this park back to its potential, I’ll be the first one at the gate. It could be a great place.
