For Pine Ridge - Itasca State Park: Itasca State Park is beautiful. The area at the Mississippi Headwaters is nicely maintained with excellent amenities— a cafe, gift shop, restrooms just steps from Lake Itasca. Many hiking trails. The Pine Ridge campground is just okay. Sites very close together. On a busy Fall weekend the scene was pretty chaotic with small kids on bikes seemingly everywhere. We did not use the bathroom facilities. While the campground is nothing special the park is definitely worth a visit.

For Pine Ridge - Itasca State Park: The park did a poor job trimming off low branches even on the park main roads, hence I don’t think it’s big rig friendly

For Pine Ridge - Itasca State Park: We stayed here for a week in summer ‘19. Beautiful, beautiful place! Like everyone else, we came to see the Mississippi headwaters but there is so much more to do! The shaded campground was decent. The sites were close together but we’ve seen worse. Shower and restroom facilities were clean and in good shape. Everyone is friendly. We will visit again.

For Pine Ridge - Itasca State Park: We were looking for a campground that would allow us to explore Itasca State Park by bicycle. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed here on weeknights.

There are 2 campgrounds within Itasca State Park - Bear Paw and Pine Ridge. Both are nice campgrounds, situated right off the road around the park with convenient access to all Itasca State Park has to offer.

We stayed in Pine Ridge. It is the newer of the 2 campgrounds. The sites vary in size, most are shady, a few are relatively private. In general, the non-electric sites are larger and more private. There is weak ATT and Verizon coverage at the campground, stronger at the visitor centers. Despite signs saying otherwise, the only usable wifi was at the visitor centers. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The bike paths and Wilderness Drive were great for biking and exploring this park.

For Pine Ridge - Itasca State Park: Very nice park. Friendly staff. Plenty to see and do. I'd give it 5 stars if it had permanent water and sewer hook ups.
