For DeParcq Woods: Gem of a campground in central Minnesota. DeParcq Woods Campground at Ft. Ripley, Minnesota. Large, level, concrete pads nestled in the trees. Water and electric at the sites, convenient dump station. Sits right on the west bank of the Mississippi. Fifteen sites, four or five were empty. We’re self contained so didn’t need other facilities. Free ice and washers. Firewood at each campsite. Camp hosts, Danny and Shelly stopped by to welcome us. Can’t say enough nice things about this camp and for $17.00, come on ?

For DeParcq Woods: This is an excellent campground. I do take issue with the fact that they do not hold true to what there website states!! The site says you need to be an active ID card holder, State employee, retired, or 100% disabled to reserve a site. This is not true I spoke with numerous campers that met none of the above criteria!! With only 15 sites it is extremely hard to get a campground when no checks to make sure that they meet the criteria. Either change the website or start enforcing the current set standard!!!

For DeParcq Woods: Minnesota state internet worked very well for us, and the showers are too-notch. A camp host was on site and helpful. Billeting may have an outdated reservation system. Make a record of when you called, as they don’t send email confirmations and they lost our reservation. Luckily there was still space when we got there.

For DeParcq Woods: Stayed here with our 2 small children in mid-July, during a yearlong trip around the country. Great home for a week, with all the amenities of the base. Free huge laundry room, free wood, military museum and veterans cemetery. We ate at the dfac a couple of times. The campground is grassy, spacious and very peaceful, except for the awesome planes flying overhead occasionally. Bad bad mosquitos but they’re trying.. we saw them spraying and also sprayed some sort of dust control on the campground road. Scenic road/trail along the river and disc golf both at the campground. Not close to much here, but nice Coburn grocery and a great golf course Eagles Landing. Also, a little township beach park (not on maps) right around the corner on Green Prairie Fish Lake. Enjoy!

For DeParcq Woods: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there in the summer of 2015. Our only regret was we couldn't stay longer. Nice clean Restrooms and clean, private shower rooms. Quiet, roomy, Level sites. Be aware that if you hjave COPD or other lung or breathing problems, some days the smoke from camp fires tends to hang in the area.
