For Kal-Haven RV Park Campground: We love downtown South Haven, the beach and pier, and the Kal-Haven trail. This rv park is a great base camp for us, very reasonably priced and friendly owners. We don’t even have to unhitch our 20’ trailer, just walk everywhere we want to go. It’s a good 20 minute walk to downtown but that’s fine e with us. Try the Black River Tavern- best fried perch!

For Kal-Haven RV Park Campground: Even though I made reservations in advance, we didn’t have a spot when we arrived. One very nice person told me that the operator of the park had checked on another camper who was supposed to have left had changed their mind and decided to stay. The operator later told me that I failed to confirm my reservation by calling her back, which was not true because I always finalize my stays before I hang up when I am only staying for one night. It was finalized because when we spoke, I told her I wanted to move in on Monday but she told me she could get me in on Sunday if I wanted. I told her I would be happy to be there for Sunday night but I would still only need the one night since our final destination was another 4 hours away. So we left and parked next door in a parking lot and started making calls to other campgrounds with no luck. Then the nice lady from the park drove over and said that they were working on getting a makeshift spot for me because they felt bad about the mixup. They moved the garbage cans and parked us on the edge of the drive with 30 amp service which was fine. I didn’t want to drive any further that day. Still got charged the regular amount but then again, it was worth it because I didn’t have to drive further that day.

For Kal-Haven RV Park Campground: Main RV area was full, so was given a rustic site down hill with an extension cord for 110volt service. When we set up, power cord was dead. Phoned the office and they said someone would correct it, never showed up!! Subsequent calls went to voicemail and no response. A brutal hot night without lights or fan because they didn’t care!!! Further lack of care was the pitiful bathroom facility, ... after a long walk up an uncared for path to the back of a house, the bathroom was a sad filthy mess. At $38 a night it was a huge disappointment!!!! A Walmart parking lot would be the Hilton compared to this place.

For Kal-Haven RV Park Campground: Small, but quiet. Very friendly folks, limited amenities, but short walk to Black River, Marina, and downtown South Haven.
