For Northland Outfitters: This is a small family run campground of the very best kind. Clean, friendly, quite and situated right on a river. There is even a walking path to a humongous Troll sculpture. Bathhouses were clean and inviting. The campground also operates a small kayaking business on the river. We will be back.

For Northland Outfitters: Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of the campground at Northland Outfitters. Getting to the campground was good. The roads in the campground are gravel and in good condition. A few trees on some of the sites need to be trimmed to accommodate the larger RVs. The campground office was open and everyone was friendly. They have a small camp store. There is a large parking area at the office, but there are lots of cars coming in to visit the troll. No escort to site, but the campground is small and easy to find the sites. Sites have fire pits and they sell firewood. Our site was 3, a back in site with a dirt drive and dirt patio area, with a picnic table. There are no good views of anything, but the campground is pleasant and has nice grounds and forest. Our site was level. The site was dry. We did not notice any seasonal folks. We did not use the bathhouse, but they looked nice. There is no pool or hot tub. No rec room. No workout fitness room. No deli on site. The grounds are nice. No cable tv. No channels are found on over air antenna. Wifi was OK. OK Verizon cell service. Here is the bad. Sites need to have gravel. Trees need to be trimmed so they do not hit larger rvs. I would come back. Dream Big, Travel Far, Live Well...

For Northland Outfitters: This was our favorite campground of our whole trip through the UP. Beautiful right on the Manistique River, quiet. The fantastic wildlife drive in Seney NWR is only 2 mi up the road. Our 21 ft trailer backed in easily into site 9. Only negative is the dump area is a bit inconvenient. We had to back in from the highway. The owners
live on site and are very helpful. Gift shop is very nice and also outfitters for canoeing and hiking. Next time we will do a kayak trip. Be prepared for mosquitos in the entire region in June!

For Northland Outfitters: Nice family run campground, small stock pond and river right there for kids and fisherman. Bathrooms clean. Store stocked, staff knowledgeable. We made the “fish loop†through Seney WR nearby with nice visitors center. Mosquitos were vicious in early June when we were there, but that’s what you get when you want water close by.

For Northland Outfitters: Great place, friendly, quiet, and you can get on the river right there. Oh, lots of hot water too.

Christmas
For Northland Outfitters: Wow. On the river. Canoe and Kayak rentals. Nice store especially if you need canoeing or kayak gear or supplies. They will drop you off up stream and you have a 2 1/2 hour float down to their location where you can take out. If you want a longer trip launch at the campsite and they pick you up after a 4 1/2 hour trip. They only have around 14 sites. The sites are well spaced with a lot of green grass between the campsites. The negative might be that the bath house is up some stairs. The bath house is well arranged and has tile floors. Depending when they clean them the path up to the bath house can bring in some dirt. The base of the showered look like they have been used and probably could be redone.
The staff were very helpful and enjoyable to work with.
