For Megunticook Campground: We stayed here in a 33’ 5th wheel 7/27-8/3/24. This was our 3rd time staying at Megunticook. This is a good campground to visit the Camden/Rockland area. Our site #52 was barely large enough for our trailer and truck. It was narrow so we had almost no room to sit outside without being on uneven roots and rocks. The pool is kept clean and is in very good condition. The bathhouse, although a bit dated, was clean and well maintained. Staff is very nice and helpful. They have a lovely waterfront area to view the ocean (sunrise is amazing), sadly the past year’s storms have taken a toll. If we are in the area we would stay here again.

For Megunticook Campground: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to explore the Camden/Rockland area. We travel in a 25 foot motorhome and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed on 4 weekdays in early June and were able to get a campsite without a reservation. The CG did not fill up during our stay.
This CG is very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It has 87 sites arrayed essentially around a circle. There are options for tents, water/elec 30, water/elec/sewer 50, water/elec/sewer 30 and tent sites and a good mix of back-ins and pull-throughs. The sites are a reasonable size for a relatively urban CG. Most required some leveling. The bathrooms were spotless. The shower was clean with ample pressure and hot water. There was a usable Verizon cell signal and no ATT cell signal throughout the park. Fast wifi could be purchased for $8/day. Fees for the sites vary by services and percent occupancy of the CG. We paid $40-45 per night.
The CG is 4 miles from downtown Camden and Rockland. The staff had great suggestions for places to hike in the area.

For Megunticook Campground: Stayed here 3 nights and truly enjoyed the location, with our 27ft. Right in between Rockland and Camden. The sites were spacious and gravel - which was pretty level. We were offered WiFi, and decline, as we like to disconnect and had our phones if needed. LOVED the walk down the path to Penobscot Bay and viewing porpoise and seal. We had a nice lunch overlooking the water one day and watch a sunrise another. Would definitely recommend and would be back.

For Megunticook Campground: Pulled in late afternoon, no reservations. Owners were working front desk and got me in a good full site. No issues and not a bad price.
Would stay again. This was only a stop over 1 night stay.

For Megunticook Campground: This campground is right on Highway 1 so bring your ear plugs. The owners have become indifferent to barking dogs so if your dog constantly barks then this is the place for you. The sewer outlet is mounted 10inches above ground on the high side (and rear) of our unlevel gravel/dirt site so that makes it impossible to completely drain the black/grey tanks on a Class A coach. Despite a lot of effort to avoid spillage, in the end we had to let some grey water from the sewer hose drain itself onto the camp site – apologies to the next camper. The camp has a dump station but that’s an extra $10 for campers and $20 for outsiders. The water outlet on our site is on the opposite side so bring a very long hose. There is cable TV coax wiring to each site with a notice on a post beside it to say that cable TV been disconnected and therefore not available. There is absolutely no useable AT&T signal here so don’t think that will keep you connected to the outside world either. The good news is the campground has generously provided a wifi service but you have to PAY FOR IT after the first hour of connectivity. You also have to pay for your stay in ADVANCE and IN FULL at the time of booking. In our experience that is normally the first sign of a over-hyped campground that cant keep disappointed customers after they arrive. We stayed in peak season and there were plenty of empty sites during our stay so that says everything. There is a short walk within the campground to a very nice area overlooking the ocean. That single redeeming feature is not enough to bring us back here.

For Megunticook Campground: This was our 2nd time staying here. We could see even more improvements from last year. Owners are really making this a great campground. Love the Cedar showers and the picnic/ overlook on the bay. Sorry the lobster dinner got cancelled due to rain, we were really looking forward to it, mother nature did not cooperate. We Really enjoyed it last year.

For Megunticook Campground: I love this little camp. The comment about feeling like a State Park is right on. Lots of trees and wooded growth. The place is covered with ferns. The sites are gravel but pretty level. Although Allstays says they have cable, the don’t. I asked about it and was told they haven’t had cable for years. Also, the trees surrounded us so satellite didn’t work. But you can stream on the WiFi which I’m sorry to say you have to pay for. I can’t believe I’m giving it four stars, but the view from a sitting area where they have a ‘Lobstah’ bake every Saturday evening is fantastic. Come here if you want some quiet relaxation and feel like your really camping. This really is a five star place with a few minor deficiencies.
