For Solomons Navy Recreation Area: Good value but not very well maintained. First time visitors do not have a very clear direction to check in. Central booking booked us for 30a site even though a 50a was needed. On site staff was helpful I’m finding new site. Sites are not clearly marked. Many campers selected sites not assigned to them.

For Solomons Navy Recreation Area: Very nice campground. Very close to Pax river. Lots of things for the kids. I only gave 4 stars because its a little pricey for military camp.

For Solomons Navy Recreation Area: It is more of a trailer park then a campground. All websites associated with the campground are at least three years old, went to rent a boat and the lady looked at me like I was crazy, an updated site would have that information. Very dissatisfied as this is the first time we have used the facilities, not sure we will be back.
Check in at 1445, room was not cleaned, told house keeping, went to the pool
For two hours, came back housekeeping was still cleaning the room, now its 1700, had to go to dinner, returned 1900, mins you I have a 2&4 year old.

For Solomons Navy Recreation Area: We camped here twice in 2016 at 2 different sites. Both were large enough to give our grandchildren plenty of room to run and play. The people at the front office were very helpful when we made our reservations and in helping us get some wood to use under our jacks since we had forgot to pack being the first time in our new camper.
We used the pool, mini golf and the boys really enjoyed the nature trail. We will definitely be back again.

For Solomons Navy Recreation Area: I wanted to believe the last good review. It was the most recent, but all the others were bad. This campground is in a great location, convenient to the DC area. Well, the bad reviews were spot on. This place is extremely crowded and not very well kept. Our camp sight doesn't look like it's been cleaned in a very long time. There are grumpy, long-term retirees all around us. Their sights are unkept, just like the whole campground. No campfires. Very loud from surrounding traffic.
When I made my reservation a month ago, I asked for a spot close to the water. When I checked in, the close spot was crossed out and the spot I ended up in couldn't be further away. Very disappointed all around. This place has potential. But, when you have a perceived captive audience, why worry about quality?

For Solomons Navy Recreation Area: Do not attempt to get in here with anything larger than a pop up camper because you will scrape your rig on all of the overgrown trees. At our site, we found a dirty diaper and trash everywhere. The grass looks very overgrown, and the place looks more of a very poor, destitute trailer park than a vacation spot. No wifi, poor water pressure, and not, repeat, not kid friendly. No activities, and the whole place needs a lot of work. The staff was really friendly though. Will not be returning.
