RV Adventure

For Point Lookout State Park: The campground is well maintained. We stayed in the tulip loop which has full hookups. The beach and fishing areas are too far to easily walk to and when we were there the day visitors filled the parking lots. The camping spaces are reasonably flat and very private. If you have children there is no place for them to play in the camping area except the road. The woods are thick with tall swamp grasses and poison ivy so you can’t venture from your site. If you are into civil war history there was a prisoner of war camp for confederate soldiers. There is nowhere nearby for groceries so be sure to bring everything you will need. There is nothing wrong with the camp ground it was just not for us.

For Point Lookout State Park: June 2019 - 25ft Class C - 2 nights Friendly staff, well maintained, stayed on Tulip Loop, very nice, level sites with full hookups and good privacy. Nature Center and Civil War Museum gave a great history of Point Lookout, MD. Nicki gave a friendly and informative tour of local flora and fauna. Level roads made for easy biking throughout park and even to some local restaurants (7 mi).

Gary

For Point Lookout State Park: Pulled in at dark. Hit sharp rock on curb. Instant flat. Got to site, backed in but needed to reposition.muddy marsh on both sided of site. Rear of trailer sunk in marsh. 10 people pushed & got trailer out with no further damage. Dump station clogged when we left also. Let us dump at site in tulip circle. Other than this very nice campground. Will go back. (In daylight)

Bill

For Point Lookout State Park: We picked a spot without sewer for out 5th wheel thinking we could use the dump station. Problem is that the dump station was clogged. Not fun. I reported it and the lady called maintenance. Waited for Maintenon but they never came. Went back to office and was told maintenance would not come until the next day. Then they wanted to charge me to go over to tulip loop to dump at o e of the vacant spots. Campground has a nice set up but lots of bugs. Would definitely stay at a spot with a full hookup next time. The camp hosts were very nice.

MrJoe

For Point Lookout State Park: We really liked Tulip Loop. It has plenty privacy and full hookups. History and nature is very nice. Make sure to bring bug repellent because this is on the water. The sites in our loop were maintained nicely.
