For Cape Ann Camp Site: Very pretty spot in Gloucester area. Friendly staff. Right across from tidal marshes. Winding road to come in on to keep you sharp. We used one of the full hookup sites near the road but there were some wonderful forested sites up on the hill. Will definitely use if we’re in the area again.

For Cape Ann Camp Site: Since discovering this place 3 years ago, I have returned every summer. Located on inlet, great beach for little kids (no waves) 1 mile away ($$ parking), and tons of things to do around the area. The seafood in Essex, Gloucester, and Rockport is as fresh as can be. Rocky Neck state park has a year round dog beach as well as a dog park. Parking and food can be costly, but worth it. Parking is free in most places after 4-5pm. Campsite has narrow roads, but offer unique sites with some privacy. Restrooms and showers are clean. For a quarter you a a good hot/cold 5 min shower. We will continue to return in the future.

For Cape Ann Camp Site: After reading the terrible reviews I had my reservations about this place. Mosquitos: we had none, but they can be everywhere when camping. Rock fire pits? Very common. In fact we have one in our yard at home. Uneven ground? Also very common and no worse here. These people must have never been camping. This is a nice place with the usual amenities. Sites are a little close together. But usually what you find in private campgrounds.

For Cape Ann Camp Site: We have a 33’ class c and they put us in the front section. The view of the water was spectacular and the moon at night over the water was amazing. I didn’t mind how sparse the site was, no fire pits or real space, but the real problem was mosquitos. We know we are camping but this was out of control. My husband has upwards of 50 bites and I have about 40. If that wasn’t bad enough they are now in our rv and we just keep finding them randomly as they keep biting us. It’s a bit miserable honestly. I would not stay there again.

For Cape Ann Camp Site: This is a dump but you don't have a choice if you want to be in this area Gloucester not big rig friendly rest room are dirty pay showers

For Cape Ann Camp Site: If you want to stay in the Gloucester area, this is the only game in town. Large rigs use the lower 'level' which makes sense because the rest of the campground is going uphill and the sites are terraced along old paved roads. Bring quarters to the showers. Some power pedestals are nailed to trees. Fire pits are rocks. You'd have to see what I mean. I didn't use the restrooms or shower stalls. Dirt/grass sites. Large rocks all over the park which looks cool, heavily treed sites. It's a place to park, that's all. Two dot Verizon LTE. Several ota television stations. Nice people at the desk but this place needs an upgrade. Again, it's the only game around.
