For North Landing Chicot State Park: We stayed for 3 nights in early November 2019 in our 38 foot class A diesel pusher. We took exit 46 off of I-49 and the back roads were narrow and bumpy but passable. The campground is poorly maintained. Many of the sites aren’t level and the asphalt is crumbling. We were at 374 which was okay. The entire north campground is 30amp, which we knew, but we were told after complaining of problems that the pedestals run high and won’t work if you have a surge protector. The good parts: uncrowded, natural beauty, hiking trails, the arboretum, wildlife sightings, perfect weather, great kayaking in the cypress groves.

For North Landing Chicot State Park: Deep in the forest. 9 miles of really rough road off interstate to campground. Pot holes in road!!
Big rigs should not attempt this CG.
Spaces are really small and tight. Most sites are way out of level.
It appeared to me that this park has not seen any maintenance or been upgraded for several decades. Garbage was not picked up. Old registration tags still hanging on the site posts. Rotted out railroad ties. Washed out asphalt, etc.
This was by far the worst State Park I have stayed at.
Camped in a 24 foot truck camper.

For North Landing Chicot State Park: WIFI did not work at all. You are not able to use the North entrance. You have to go to the South entrance. Save yourself a trip and set your GPS to that location. We stayed 2 days because it was peaceful. Showers were hot and private with bathrooms. Real nice there. Sites were level in some places and not. Lots to pick from so just ask to pick one. Verizon worked here. Staff was really accommodating.
