For Barren River Lake State Resort Park: Most of the lots are sloped or very narrow with drop offs. Roads are hard to maneuver for a medium to long rig. We had difficulties with a 28’. Dump station is hard to get to (dumpster in the way and sharp turn to exit). We skipped dumping.

For Barren River Lake State Resort Park: Campground is "just ok". The roads in CG needed repair, the tree limbs needed to be trimmed back due to hanging low enough to be on top of our unit, be sure to use a water pressure valve because the PSI is enough to make your water lines leak, and road directions inside CG are a bit confusing. Would not return until they have done some renovations.

For Barren River Lake State Resort Park: Steep, hilly park. Clean, grassy, some trees for shade. Asphalt roads broken up by tree roots and deep ruts at edge of asphalt, so drive carefully. Narrow short sites for tents have wooden decks. Most sites have odd placement (opposite sides?) of power poles and water spigots, and site's table and fire ring are steep uphill. Staff directed us to choose a site, they came by to pick up payment, and trash. Bathhouse and laundry were clean. Cell service better on uphill sites. Nice trail thru woods around golf course.

For Barren River Lake State Resort Park: Nice, quiet, good bath house. Washer/Dryers not clean, so I didn't do laundry. Great price. Will definitely stay here again.
