For John James Audobon State Park: Stayed two nights. Route 41 was unbelievably loud all night long. Could not put out our awning, a 4 ft diameter tree was right in the middle of the pad. Power was on drivers side, water all the way on the other side of the coach. Our 30’ hose just barely made it. Sites are crammed together. Mens shower facility had no seats, no hooks for Dopp kits or towels. The shower drain ran across the entire floor and actually drained to common hole in the main aisle. Sort of nasty, but not clean. The various trails however were nice. Beautiful trees and rolling hills. Museum was ok, lacked depth of Audubon's work. We walked back to the campground and noticed the Ice Machine. Since our cooler was almost out we decided to get some….“Out of order” sign was pointed to. The was mid July in the hottest summer this part of the country has seen in a while.. No ice. Probably will pick a Walmart over this park if we need another stay in the area.

For John James Audobon State Park: I stayed here in June while attending the WC Handy festival. I sleep in my SUV so don't need a lot of room. The sites are on the smaller side and close together so there isn't a lot of privacy. Those on the perimeter of the campground have a lot of shade. The ones in the central area may be sunny. I thought the restroom and showers we're very clean and well lit. It would be nice if they would add a bench to sit on. The campground was well-kept, and the hosts were attentive. The site that I was at only had 30 amp service. Overall, I thought it was a very nice campground and I enjoyed my stay there. It's right on the edge of town so it's convenient for those who are attending the festival.

DaVida

For John James Audobon State Park: Smallish campground before the entrance to the state park, with tight, narrow, but level sites. Some trees, no privacy between sites which is good for watching kids. One adequate bathhouse for entire campground, one washer & dryer. Staff cleaned the bathhouse at 8am?! US41 quite noisy all night. Ok for a one-night stopover.
